DAP must not be Gerakan-ized

Calls from a number of people including former Info Min Zainuddin Maiden for DAP to join BN for national reconciliation.

and enjoy this capon wakakaka

Don't ever forget what happened to the once-mighty Gerakan Party which over circumcised itself when it responded to Tun Razak's invitation to join the newly formed BN. It ended up not only being sunat-ed but having no balls.

Gerakan Party could have been the ruling party by mid 80's or early 90's if it had resisted Razak's siren call. Many middle and upper class Malays were attracted to its multiracial character. Razak made that invitation because he was sh*t scared of Gerakan.

His invitation was a brilliant strategy that in one fell stroke emasculated the powerful Gerakan, the Ipoh-Perak King PPP and various other non-Perikatan parties including PAS which had demolished (or tsunami-ed) Tunku's Alliance (Perikatan) in 1969, into the sycophantic subordinates of UMNO that you have seen for the last three decades.

Tunku's Perikatan (Alliance)
predecessor to BN
sunk by loose coalition of
Gerakan, PPP, DAP and PAS

Socialist Front boycotted 1969 polls
and disappeared forever
its 'descendants' are PRM and PSM

DAP had wisely stayed out of BN so don't begrudge this party's success today because for them, veterans like Uncle Lim and Bhai Karpal, it has been a long 45-years haul from 1969 to now, one of tremendous sacrifices in resisting the lure of the BN trough (or gravy train) and threats, and not forgetting spells in Kem Kamunting.

free meals and lodging

PAS subsequently left BN (for second time - first time was from Perikatan), which explains why Pak Haji Nik Aziz has never trusted UMNO.

But this is not to say DAP can't work with BN for the good of the country and rakyat, but never within BN as a coalition member. It will be Gerakan-ized into a capon (eam kay), wakakaka.

Before Pakatan, Malaya-Malaysia had two outstanding political parties, namely:

(a) Socialist Front (merger of Labour Party and Parti Rakyat), and

(l) Parti Rakyat, (r) Labour Party

Socialist Front logo has the Labour Party's emblem behind the Kerbau
the SF and later even the Labour Party was popularly known to the Chinese
as Gu-T'au-Tong (Parti Kepala Kerbau)

[wonder how Hishamuddin was connected wakakaka]

Socialist Front boycotted 1969 polls and disappeared forever
its 'descendants' are PRM and PSM

(b) Gerakan Party

The former was hobbled through laws while the latter was gelded within BN, wakakaka again.

DAP and BN can work on policies, programs and projects on a bipartisan basis as sovereign equals but never as same coalition members regardless of whether the partnership is equal or not equal, because partnership is irrelevant when two independent parties cooperate or collaborate but never combined or merged together as a coalition (like BN).

tender capon for UMNO to 'makan'

new Gerakan Party symbol?
wakakaka

And in an election, there's no such thing as allocation of X number of seats to A and Y number of seats to B. DAP and BN can and shall contest against each other as different and independent political parties to provide the rakyat a democratic choice.

Pokoknya, DAP must remain and stay independent, yes, even as a cooperating member in Pakatan.

  1. I am not sure working with BN on a national platform. Frankly, if it can work out, Singapore would still be part of Malaysia. Brunei would join Malaysia. Frankly, I don't expect anything from Najib/BN/UMNO. I am not sure if there would be a GE14. Najib or Madhater or whoever in UMNO may think that election is so unpredictable that they do away with it. UMNO has done so by rigging the election & forcifully remove a legitimate government through unconstitutional means

We should usher the Gandhi style non cooperation that would weigh down UMNO till it mampus. They are simply the wrong folks to work with

DAP should expand its activities in areas such as NS, Kedah & Pahang. I am very happy that Pahang got 1 melayu MP & 1 malay adun. DAP may have to go on its own from now on

  2. "UMNO would love to coopt PAS into its fold, only to break Pakatan up. But while Nik Aziz is alive, he won't allow PAS to do so because he remembers how UMNO had tricked PAS before. Once Nik Aziz is not around there may be such a possibility."

just change nik aziz to lks n ks, it still make sense and convey the same message right?

  4. Yes, I agree. If DAP joins BN then their are frogs, even worse than those that we know of, coz in this case, the whole party, not an individual, jumps.

  6. Kaytee Kia,
I have a bloody brilliant dream, that I dream of every lock stock and barrel of UMNO resign and join DAP. Could you please continue to conjure the aftermath of my perhaps silly dream ?

  7. It won't happen. Gerakan was assimilated in the 70s. (Resistance was futile?) Now is the 2nd decade of the 21st century.

UMNO and DAP have mutually demonised each other so much so that the thought of DAP joining BN is mutually abominable.

By the way, amidst the gloom, one guy must be quietly smirking: Abdullah Badawi. ("You thought I did bad, see how my successor fared even with the backing of the great Mahathir? ")

  8. DAP joining UMNO is a disaster. At the same time we are getting more and more partisan. Partisanship is not going to bring us forward. To the extend, anything UMNO do or say, PR will object and vice versa.

This is a lot of wrongs in our constitution (single handedly done by one dictator) and there are rooms for improvement in our constitution. BN and PR has to work together to amend it.

It is still a joke, chatting with two of my friends on street and keeping a look out from left to right, to check whether we would be arrested for illegal assembly.

  10. Easier option is for UMNO to invite Anwar back to helm the country. He will bring PAS & DAP with him and then wevhave truly 1 Malaysia. Umno & Pas will have their unity government. UMNO will have enough non-malays to fill the entire cabinet. Anwar will finally realize his ambition to be PM. Then we are all hapoy as there would not be a need for an opposition. Hehehe
