Division chief quashes rumours Najib’s daughter to contest Lembah Pantai seat
Nooryana Najwa is a member of the Lembah Pantai Umno division.
PETALING JAYA: Lembah Pantai Umno chief Ramlan Askolani has denied rumours that former prime minister Najib Razak’s daughter, Nooryana Najwa, will be contesting the parliamentary seat there in the 15th general election (GE15).
Ramlan told FMT that Nooryana’s presence at the Lembah Pantai Umno division meeting last week was in her capacity as a member of the division as well as to relay Najib’s message to strengthen the party.
Ramlan, who is also the Umno Federal Territories communications secretary, said he is among those nominated for the seat.
“I don’t dare to mention the names of the other candidates,” he said. “For the division, my name was the first choice.”
However, he said, Nooryana may have a chance of becoming the division’s Puteri chief, replacing Maslina Harun, who is now over 35.
“There is a chance we can get her to become the new Puteri head (in Lembah Pantai),” he said.
PKR information director Fahmi Fadzil won the seat in the last general election with a 5,598-vote majority over Umno’s Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin.

The fact of the matter is Nooryana Najwa is unwelcome to contest in any UMNO warlord's territory, except perhaps Pekan, which is practically Bossku's personal-to-holder seat.
ReplyDeleteThe sad fact is as far as UMNO power politics goes, Bossku out-of-sight in Kajang is a fast fading power factor, except perhaps in number of Facebook followers.
