Wong Tack dismisses claims he wasn’t dropped and offered Cameron Highlands seat

Wong Tack claims he was initially told that he was to ‘disappear from Pahang completely’.

PETALING JAYA: Wong Tack has denied DAP’s claims that he was not dropped as a candidate for the 15th general election and that he had instead been offered to contest in Cameron Highlands.

“This is inaccurate,” Wong, who has since declared he would defend his Bentong parliamentary seat as an independent, said in a statement.

The activist-turned politician said that Pahang DAP had on Oct 16 “decided to remove me from Bentong”. He also claimed that he was told that he would not be contesting any seats in Pahang.

“I am to disappear from Pahang completely.”

Wong Tack said he was subsequently offered the Cameron Highlands seat following a backlash from the ground and party members in Bentong.

“I immediately declined the offer.”

  1. Ha ha ha...a classic "he said, she said" situation.

Whatever it is, the relationship seems broken.

Wong Tack should just leave DAP and go solo. Let the voters in Bentong speak.
