Perak Amanah says taking back spots given to Bersatu, Mujahid and Dr Hatta to defend federal seats

IPOH, Oct 28 — Perak Parti Amanah Negara today announced that its candidates will contest 20 state seats and six parliamentary seats for the 15th general election, including those which have been allocated for Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia in 2018.

Perak Amanah chairman Datuk Asmuni Awi said Datuk Seri Mujahid Yusof Rawa will defend the Parit Buntar seat while Mohd Hatta Md Ramli will defend the Lumut seat.


"We will be contesting back the seats which we have given to Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia in the previous election.

"For the state seats, we have 12 new candidates of which nine are young candidates, while the for the parliament seat we have three new candidates,” he told a press conference at the Wisma Amanah Perak.


The other four candidates for the parliament seats are Zolkarnain Abidin (Larut), Fakhruldin Mohd Hashim (Bukit Gantang), Ahmad Termizi Ramli (Kuala Kangsar) and Nurthaqaffah Nordin (Parit).


Asmuni also said that he will defend the Manjoi state seat while his deputy chapter chairman Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin will defend the Sungai Rapat seat.

He added that Pasir Panjang and Kamunting incumbents Yahaha Mat Nor and Muhd Fadhil Nuruddin will defend their seats respectively.

"However, for Behrang Aminuddin Zulkipli has been dropped and the seat will be contested by Perak Amanah youth chief Khairol Najib Hashim, which is our youngest candidate aged 30,” he said.

"For Titi Serong, Muhammad Nakhaie Wahab will contest the seat,” he said,

Titi Serong incumbent Hasnul Zulkarnain Abd Munaim who contested under Amanah ticket in the 14th general election, had quit the party to become independent.

Other candidates are: Mohd Saad Ismail (Pengkalan Hulu), Mohd Sabri Abdul Manaf (Kota Tampan), Razali Ismail (Selama), Mohd Nazri Din (Kubu Gajah), Sheikh Khuzaifah Sheikh Abu Bakar (Gunung Semanggol), Ahmad Saqif Ansarallah Ahmad Jihbaz Mokhlis (Selinsing), Megat Shariffudin Ibrahim (Changkat Jering), Zaiton Latiff (Lubok Merbau), Mohd Jamsari Mahamood (Manong), Mohd Ikhmal Mohd Iskandar (Belanja), Mohd Nazri Hashim (Ayer Kuning), Mohd Syamsul Alauddin (Kampung Gajah), Ahmad Munzirie Ahmad Kabir (Rungkup) and Muhaimin Sulam (Changkat Jong).

Nik Omar Nik Abd Aziz, who had contested under Amanah in 2018, was not named as a candidate, after PKR announced that he will be one of its "high-profile" candidates in Perak.
