Indeed, she founded the co-called Sarawak Report which has been referred to in recent news and blog postings. The Sarawak Report described itself as "a group of citizens and onlookers deeply concerned by the situation in Sarawak, East Malaysia."
She is also founder of Radio Free Sarawak which together with Sarawak Report has not been complimentary of Peh-Mor and family, and their asset holdings in the USA and Canada, wakakaka.
I too am interested in the alleged notorious affairs of Peh-Mor, where I have heard of umpteen bundles of RM100 notes being carried in brief cases casually around the Sarawak boondocks and mysteriously 'left lying here and there', wakakaka, during election times.
Whatever, Claire Rewcastle Brown probing into Sarawakian affairs seems to be fine and natural for someone who continues to hold such an immense interest in her birth place.
She first came to my notice when she was engaged in a verbal tiff with RPK. T'was about 1MDB. It would appear Claire Rewcastle Brown has spread her investigative interests outside of Sarawak and over the South China Sea into Peninsular Malaysia politics.
She has been said to even provide information that Najib has ang-pow-rised Hadi Awang with RM90 million - or was it RM200 million - for the latter to allegedly not korek into 1MDB affairs during parliamentary sessions.
For what to Hadi Awang has been her slanderous kay-poh-chnee-ness, especially for one who is a foreigner (Hadi does NOT like Westerners - see image below) she has been sued by Hadi Awang. Latest, it seems she is in big shit over the legal suit.
I wonder why Claire Rewcastle Brown has strayed from her principal interest, namely Peh-Mor and Sarawakian affairs, into Peninsular politics. Even the horn-bill doesn't fly that far. She also seems to have abandoned her erstwhile interests in Sarawak matters.
Thus, the Sarawak Report in describing itself as "a group of citizens and onlookers deeply concerned by the situation in Sarawak, East Malaysia" has NOT been kosher - for a start, its principal is NOT a citizen but rather a foreigner, and secondly, its area of so-called 'concern' has lately been completely outside Sarawak.
Would this be considered 'fake news'?
Her Sarawak Report and indeed Radio Free Sarawak are not commercial undertakings, thus presumably are self-funded or highly subsidised. Either she must be personally mighty rich to be able to afford such indulgences or she has been paid kau kau by someone.
If so, ie. been paid kau kau by someone, and she knows this as she is a Western journalist, she has an obligation to inform her public each and every time that she publishes her Sarawak Report news and broadcasts on her Radio Free Sarawak that the so-called news and broadcasts have been funded by so-and-so.
Otherwise those published/broadcast so-called news, as her British countrymen would say, would not be cricket, meaning that for profit she's pushing out someone's prepared-intended information and propaganda but under the guise of news.
To you aka and tangachi with pitchforks tongue, I just want to remind you that "Truth Alone Triumphs" [Satyameva Jayate] is the seal of the Government of India. So, stop your lies and prejudices.
ReplyDeleteNo piece on Ambiga the beloved princess bersih ka?
ReplyDeleteIt does not mean a foreigner cannot report on Sarawak. You are wrong. If not for Sarawak Report, we will not know the extent of Mahmud Taib corruption and the destruction of the rainforest of Sarawak. These are truth that cannot be denied.
ReplyDeletedid I say Claire can't report on Sarawak?
DeleteTo paraphrase yr takes of the slanderous kay-poh-chnee-ness, what about yr 'reports' about the Jews/Palestinians conflicts?
DeleteR u belonging to any of the tribes?
Ditto yr equally slanderous kay-poh-chnee-ness about the Abrahamic faiths, especially about the Judaism/Christianity!
Unless yr self-claimed atheist inclination is ONLY superficial?
Likewise with yr 'claims' of Claire's financial sources!
Perhaps, it's the case of pot calling the kettle BLACK???
Memang nyanyuk after the long drown in the wines of the Margaret River!
I am a blogger and am 'licensed' to blog my opinion/takes which remain only opinions and personal views. I do NOT pass on the info in my posts as so-called 'reliable news', gossip or otherwise
DeleteI do not operate a 'paper' like Sarawak report nor a radio station thus I do not require any financial resources to korek kau kau, just my own time and personal indulgences
Please do tell MORE about the differences between yr blog & a 'paper' like Sarawak report or a radio station, BESIDES the above crappy excuses lah.
DeleteSemua adalah a form of 'infos' distribution, right?
Kalau macam tu, then where to stand yr self-claimed 'righteousness'?
That rights belong to the readers who read & form their own opinions JUST like yrs with Claire's info!
Jangan trying to twist & tipu like that mom lah!
Sarawak Report definitely has many Malaysian citizens among its backers, both in its content and in wherewithal.
ReplyDeleteIt is funny how you don't demand the same disclosure standards of your buddy RPK.
"Either he must be personally mighty rich to be able to afford such indulgences or he has been paid kau kau by someone." Who is funding him ?
It is a fact that, in Malaysia, critics of the Federal Administration , and those who support the critics are subject to serious , even life-threatening extra-judicial coercion and threats.
So if Sarawak Report declines to divulge its backers, I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
A great deal of what Sarawak Report has exposed has turned out to be true facts, which the Administration would dearly want to suppress.
In the case of 1MDB, a number foreign governments, including Singapore, have taken criminal and civil action through THEIR legal system, but Malaysia refuses to do so, no doubt protecting the guilty.
The last time I checked, Sarawak is still part of Malaysia.
ReplyDeleteSo Malaysia national issues, especially serious ones, are a matter of legitimate concern to Sarawak Report.
1MDB and FGV scandals were a theft as much from the people of Penang as they were from the people of Sarawak.
She would be out of line only if, say, she focused on an issue purely of concern within Penang , Johor, Pahang or Selangor
The Sarawak Report has described itself as "a group of citizens and onlookers deeply concerned by the situation in Sarawak, East Malaysia."
DeleteI am flabbergasted by your 'creativity', wakakaka
Federal policies affect all M'sians, Sabahans/Sarawakians included.
DeleteHence what's wrong when Sarawakians question the kleptocratic 1MDB? Or any dubious federal policies!
Ain't there connected implications that could cause Sarawakians untold hardships should that spoils cause M'sia ills?
I am flabbergasted by your 'creativity', wakakakakaka.... sigh
Ktemoc is Anti-Anybody who criticises his beloved Mullah Najib, except maybe a few DAP leaders whom he still supports.
DeleteI'm flabbergasted at the writer's narrow mindedness at thinking serious national issues affecting all, including Sarawak, are not supposed to be the concern of a website focused on Sarawak.
ReplyDeleteSarawak Report. We deceive, you believe.
ReplyDeleteTo date, 6 people in Singapore - accomplices who enabled the criminal 1MDB transactions - have been tried in Singapore courts for crimes they committed on Singapore soil.
DeleteThey have been sentenced to penalties ranging from jail terms, Fines, seizure of their ill-gotten gains and prohibition from working in the Singapore Financial Industry for 10 years -effectively ending their careers. Maybe they can go work for Najib as dishwashers.
You still think Sarawak Report is fake news ???
Only an ostrich burying its head in the sand...
The only reason no prosecution has been conducted in Malaysia over 1MDB is because the police and prosecution service are no more than Najib lackeys.
"Sarawak Report. We deceive, you believe"
DeleteMalaysia-Today. RPK deceives, nobody believes, except his cohorts at his comment section and Ktemoc, wakakaka
BTW, guys, go back and read some of Ktemoc's old writes...and marvel at how one could change 180 degree just like that...something overwhelming must have happened to Ktemoc for such a drastic change to occur. He and his buddy monster are like a pair of tag team, except that Ktemoc prefers the slimy route with his pretense at 'nobleness' and 'integrity' while his tag monstrous partner will go where no decent human dare to go, the gangster that he is...check out MOM's misogynistic and racist tirade against Ambiga and Clare Rewcastle Brown...the great Pimp and Prostitute himself over exceeds himself with lines like " hiding her black hands " and "white woman". Well, this is not the first time the Monster had called non Muslims prostitutes. During the white angpow brouhaha, he saw fit to rush to the defence of Ibrahim Katak Ali and accused the elderly Chinese ladies and men who were recipients of the angpows in white envelopes of being prostitutes. This MOM can only dare to abuse in this manner on the non Muslims. Even in his most drunken state, he knows well enough not to touch on the Malay Muslims but he can safely go berserk on others. And this Indecent Monster is Ktemoc's best friend, wakakaka.
kt is perfectly fine if one insult the indian like what rpk did. he would defend a bugis but never a indian. kt numerous compassion article toward indian is merely a masking of his racist attitude. he hate indian wakaka.
DeleteSR has is doing an excellent job to keep M'sian voters well informed of the current socio economic and political issues. This is happening because they have lost confidence in the Security Enforcement Agencies, Public Prosecutor and Judisciary; all these authorities are being manupulated by the Head of BN govt.administration. The case of SPRM since 2016 they have exposed many cases of largescale corruption in BN Federal & State govt administration
ReplyDeleteGovt.Linked Companies and
Federal Statutory Authorities including seizure of assets and freezing RM millions in bank accounts
but todate no private individual or officials of these organisations involved in corruption as alleged by SPRM yet to be charged and prosecuted in the court of law. In the meanwhile what has happened to the assets and money frozen in the bank? Most probably a plea of bargaing is taking place between the attorneys of the government & those accused of corruption!!!. Since there is no follow up by SPRM on this issue, the matters are deemed closed and settled as win-a-win sititution by both parties.
