The NewGen Party (NewGen) today met with Pakatan Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad to push for their bid to join the opposition coalition.
"The meeting was to officially inform Mahathir that we at NewGen party want to join Harapan as its fifth member.
"We conveyed our intentions and why Harapan should accept us," NewGen president A Rajaretinam told a press conference in Kuala Lumpur this afternoon. [...]
Rajaretinam said he was confident that NewGen can help swing 15 percent of the Indian votes in Harapan's favour, which could threaten 16 of BN's marginal seats.
He added that during the meeting with Mahathir, the former had acknowledged for the need of a party for minorities including Indians.
Why are there people still wanting to form small insignificant and frequently race-based parties which are totally dependent upon minority votes, unless it's to promote the leaders into some form of senatorship by their association or membership with the biggies.
In Peninsular we already have PCM (wakakaka), KITA, IKATAN, Makkal Sakthi, HRP, Hindraf, etc with a million more such kutu-parties in Sabah.
It's bad enough when we have former giants reduced to insignificance like PPP but who still want to 'play', let alone these newcomers who will add on uselessly to the plethora of wannabes.

1) personal ego
2) to promote the leaders into some form of senatorship by their association or membership with the biggies
3) MO1 needs multiple variations of players to cover ALL fronts using pittance incentives like dedak, projects & mosquitoe positions
