Dr Mahathir Mohamad has warned his rivals that he too can dig up dirt on them, after two Umno-linked newspapers zoomed in on his granddaughter's purportedly lavish lifestyle [and that] In politics demonising people will always be a strategy.
Of course. In fact his opponents had already suffered from such demonisations.
Firstly there was arch opponent during the late '80s, Ku Li, and his Catholic-cross Kadazandusun hat.
Then there was arch opponent during the late '90s, Mammanlai and all sorts of sordid tales including the 50 Dalils.
But that's not the point here, which should be:
How is Mukhriz's daughter able to sustain such a lifestyle?
As Tourism Minister Nazri said to Mukhriz that due to Mukhriz's status as a public figure in Malaysian politics, the public has the right to question a political figure's source of wealth therefore Mukhriz should not question why the people and mainstream media are asking about his family's wealth.
They have every right to know.
Nazri added: "When you become a public figure, people have the right to know where your wealth comes from. So don’t pretend like you want to fight for the poor and such."
"What’s wrong with flaunting your wealth as long as the source of the wealth is halal?"
"Religion didn't say it's wrong for its followers to chase after wealth as long as it is done through halal ways. You're scared, is it?"

Since Mukhriz seemed to be struck dumb, maybe granddad can explain how his granddaughter is able to live such a profligate lifestyle instead of threatening retaliation in scandals-exposure.
If Mahathir or Mukhriz cannot or is unwilling to explain, the MACC needs to probe the earnings of daughter of Mukhriz, Mukhriz himself and perhaps even Mahathir.
Don't distract us with counter accusations. That can come later as a separate issue. Please explain this first.
y kt only wan explanation from mahathir n family but keep silent on many others?
ReplyDeleteWhy was Ktemoc objecting earlier when many demanded that Najib account for Rosmah' s luxurious lifestyle ?
ReplyDeleteCome on, come on...semua mari ramai ramai cuci linen kotor in public... *clap, clap clap. This is vintage Umno....the pot calling the kettle black...this week the pot's turn, next week the kettle's, hehehe. A Gangster Party of merry men robbing and plundering the country blind in plain sight, made more interesting as the holy lebai gang has also now join in the fun, the latter making up for lost time...buying high powered cars, spanking new mansions and new, young wives as though there's no tomorrow. Every year the media will put forth the 10 richest and the Chinese will dominate this list, invariably. But everyone in the nation, from my house maid to the my grandma, knows that the richest are those NOT in the list...a thousand, a few hundred thousand times richer...these richest of the rich are all Malays, an open secret ! And some like to claim the Malays are angels, only others are gangsters and thugs; and even one ex judge made the pronouncement that Malays never lie. HAHAHAHAHA...LMAO.
