Sanusi to attend Madani Aidilfitri open house after state ruler’s consent
KEDAH Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has announced that he will be attending the Madani Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house in Alor Star tomorrow after the state ruler consented to going.
“The Kedah MB is scheduled to attend the Madani open house tomorrow to escort state ruler Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah tomorrow,” Sanusi’s press secretary Muhamad Mat Yakim was quoted as saying by Berita Harian.
The open house in Kedah will be held at Alor Star’s Raia Hotel from 10am to 2pm.
Sanusi’s announcement comes after Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil revealed in an announcement that Kedah Sultan will join Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at the state capital’s national-level open house ceremony tomorrow (April 29).
He stated that this will liven up the event and allow Kedahans to celebrate Raya with Sultan Sallehuddin.
On Thursday (April 27), Sanusi stated that he would attend the open house if Sultan Sallehuddin agreed.
Recall that the PAS leader had previously kicked up a fuss on Sunday (April 23) when he had criticised Putrajaya’s decision to host open house programmes in opposition-ruled states.
Describing the open houses as merely election campaign events which should not proceed, Sanusi said Putrajaya was going against its own stance of doing away with massive events to cut costs.
He also said federal leaders should stick to the long-standing tradition of a single open house event at the prime minister’s residence, Seri Perdana, or around Putrajaya. – April 28, 2023
