Is MUDA ‘misbehaving’ after Luqman Long quit as Hannah Yeoh’s aide?

Is MUDA ‘misbehaving’ after Luqman Long quit as Hannah Yeoh’s aide?

ON Wednesday (April 19), MUDA (Malaysian United Democratic Alliance) information chief Luqman Long resigned as the special functions officer (strategy) to Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh.

In his resignation letter, Luqman said his was stepping down with immediate effect.

While Twitter users are riling up against MUDA on Luqman’s resignation, the question is what is the so-called multi-racial and youth-centric political party up to now?

Luqman has quit his post without giving any reason. MUDA leaders did not comment on the resignation.

Interestingly, MUDA’s founder Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has a very good relationship with Yeoh who is also the Segambut MP. They have been posting regular TikTok videos of them together, giving the impression both leaders are good buddies.

Luqman’s resignation has fuelled speculation that there may be internal disagreements within MUDA or that the party’s application to join Pakatan Harapan (PH) is in jeopardy.

The party has been accused of insincerity by some Pakatan Harapan (PH) supporters due to its criticism of government policies.

The criticism from MUDA adds to the already heavy load of online attacks against both the PH and the DAP from Bersatu and the PAS since the 15th General Elections (GE15) in November last year.

Netizens are pointing out that Luqman is behaving like the opposition by attacking Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for his decision to hold the Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house in Perikatan Nasional (PN)-held states of Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.

This was revealed by Twitter user, @braindrainbb who noted: “Since he resigned on Wednesday, he has become vocal for the wrong reason”.

On the same note, several netizens are also showing their unhappiness that Yeoh had to employ a MUDA member for the post while many DAP supporters and cadres are unemployed.

“Just appoint a DAP fella. Why went out of the way to appoint a MUDA leader. In the end, he complained as if he’s with the opposition,” nothingtosay (@azryn81) lashed out.

But not everyone is against MUDA though as Twitter user Coffee (@RashidahAbdull8) believes Luqman has made the right decision to quit.

"Success comes to those who dare and act. Dares to criticise positively"

That idea ISN'T cultivated within the dogma of giatunas indoctrinations.

While graping opportunities, any opportunities of right & wrong, to advance personal goals with minimum personal efforts IS!

Such opportunistic discombobulate is just a given manifestation of that meme-ed manna-from-heaven attitude!

  2. Muda is feeling ostracised, being still not accepted as a real PH partner nearly six months after the General Elections.

  3. Muda is probably correct to feel slighted in this Government.

Muda was in the trenches , as they say, alongside Harapan in GE15, while UMNO was in the other side.
But since GE15, UMNO has been fully on-board Government decision making, often even calling the shots , while Muda has been ignored.

One of the key issues in maintaining Alliances is you don't forget your comrades who fought alongside you.
