Burst pipe triggers landslide outside MACC Academy

A landslide occurred near the entrance of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Academy (MACA) campus in Kuala Lumpur and it took out a guardhouse in the process.

No injuries or casualties were reported from the incident at Persiaran Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin, near Bukit Tunku, this afternoon.

The Fire and Rescue Department said it was alerted of the incident at close to 2pm and its team arrived on the scene shortly after.

There were 76 people at the academy at the time of the incident, all of whom have been evacuated.

The Fire and Rescue Department believes the incident was caused by a burst water pipe and soil movement was still occurring when their personnel arrived

Kuala Lumpur City Hall, the Public Works Department and Syabas have been alerted for further action.

MACA serves as a training centre for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

  1. I am impressed that Malaysia has a MACA (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Academy). We must not forget that there are also sub committees in the MACC to ensure the MACC is doing what it is supposed to do.

Then pray tell why Malaysia's ranking is 61 in the last CPI (Corruption Perception Index)? And why the head of MACC, Azam Baki himself was embroiled in a scandal of his own?
