PETALING JAYA: A dental clinic in Shah Alam has defended a “Muslims only” job advertisement it had put up which has drawn criticism online, explaining that this decision was purely based on Islamic beliefs.
Dr Nik Ahmad Syakir, executive director of Dental Republik, said they only wanted to hire Muslims as Islam outlined the conduct that needed to be practised by everyone at work.
He said this then ensures that all forms of occupations produced a halal source of living, adding that it was more important to earn the pleasure of God.
“It’s God’s pleasure that causes the sustenance that we earn to not only be halal, but also to be overflowing with blessing. This is our belief as Muslims. The same goes for other religions who believe in ‘feng shui’ and so on.
“So if anyone felt uncomfortable because of this decision, we at Dental Republik dental clinic would like to apologise. However, we are firm in our beliefs when it comes to choosing employees,” he said in a Facebook post today.
The dental clinic’s employment advert that went viral stated that only Muslims would be hired and that they needed to observe their daily prayers.
Netizens had questioned whether religion should be a factor when it comes to the hiring of employees, as opposed to qualification and experience.

kt notes:
As Dental Republik is a privately run organisation-business, I agree with the Director.
On the same argument, all privately owned business and organisations should be allowed to practise their religious policies in the way the owners- management deem optional for their business.
Only in public organisations (ie. government) may not be allowed to discriminate on race, religion and culture.
Will they accept money from a non-Muslim patient?
ReplyDeleteThey do not expect non malays or non muslims to visit the clinic as it is located within predominately malay area, Shah Alam. And I have no problems with the so-called "muslim-first" agenda; after all most of chinamen companies do the same thing with mandarin-speaking only so a tit for a tat
DeleteI don’t know any Chinaman who will not accept business from Malay-Muslim. My question is with this dentist: is the reverse true? Will he accept non-Muslim patients.

DeleteIt would be interesting to see tge reaction if a Chinese run company advertises for Mandarin speaking Chinese as staff on tge reasoning the customers are more comfortable dealing with Mandarin speaking Chinese staff
ReplyDeleteThe declared qualification of hiring those of a certain Race or Religion only in any organisation other than a faith-organisations would be illegal in most democracies the 21st century.
ReplyDeleteJob skills requirements such as fluency in Chinese, Tamil or Arabic a totally different matter.
A privately owned business on Australia openly stating that they are hiring Whites or Christians only would face serious investigation very quickly.
the criteria is fine, is it necessary to let the whole world know?
ReplyDeleteTypical Formosan fart tactic used to hide the true statistics of covid-19.
Deleteimporter vs exporter, 7 vs 4600x10, 573 vs 80000x10.
Deletex10 is conservative estimate.
Keep playing yr Formosan covid statistics lah.
DeleteRemember, u ain't Goebbels' fart either!
Winter is just coming on around the corner - wakakakakaka… better to recall yr daughter back, quick.

DeleteEight hundred → kmt defended ancestor land against intruder n invader!
DeleteWow!!
Did u write the script?
Movie ≪八佰≫ over dramatised a small heroic incident in the fight of The Battle of Shanghai.
Lieutenant Colonel Xie Jinyuan of the 524th Regiment of the under-equipped 88th Division of the National Revolutionary Army, leads 452 young officers and soldiers to defend Sihang Warehouse against the 3rd Imperial Japanese Division consisting of around 20,000 troops on a heroic suicidal last stand against the Japanese under an order by Generalissimo of Nationalist China, Chiang Kai-shek.
88th Division of the National Revolutionary Army consisted of a combined army from kmt & 八路军 from CCP!
Mfer, keep telling yr Formosan katak lies by twisting real history!
