Anwar: Budget ‘misleading’, may not be easily passed

FMT:

2021 budget ‘misleading’, may not be easily passed, warns Anwar

Anwar Ibrahim says the 2021 budget is ‘nothing extraordinary’ and does not touch on issues concerning the people

KUALA LUMPUR: Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim today warned that the 2021 budget “may not be passed easily” as it did not touch on several issues that concern the rakyat.

He claimed the budget tabled on Friday was “misleading and nothing extraordinary”.

Debating the budget proposals in the Dewan Rakyat this morning, Anwar said the views given by opposition MPs to Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz during pre-budget discussions, especially on the loan moratorium and Covid-19 allocation, had been ignored.

He said this showed there was no cooperation from the government.

As much as the opposition wanted to support the budget, he said, there were several issues, such as figures which “have been manipulated so that the budget looks good”.

Due to that, he said, the budget “may not be passed easily”, adding that the finance ministry should review the allocation to fight Covid-19, allocation for frontliners, and measures to stimulate the economy.

  1. Definitely The Twit of a Twat FM is trying to mislead.....reclassifying many Health Ministry expenses under different codes which are under “Development” rather than “Operational” expenditure to give the impression that our Development portion is higher than it really is.

But the elephant in the room is the bloated Civil Service.

Meanwhile it has been exposed by Jibby that BN had no say in the preparation of this budget, so now we know why there was no RM40 million matching grant for TARUC, something that Wee KHAT Siong has cowardly asked DAP to follow up with the FM. But MCA’s Mah Hang Soon is the Deputy Education Minister.....???? The one who was famously asked THREE TIMES about UEC recognition and THREE TIMES he avoided answering. Now will he ask The Twit of a Twat about TARUC 40 million?
