The man who knew too much

(MMO) – Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim knew about the Bank Negara Malaysia’s forex losses but ordered it to be kept a secret, the bank’s former deputy governor said today.

Datuk Abdul Murad Khalid, who was then the BNM advisor revealed that in 1994 he was directed to explain the matter to Anwar after he had raised the financial losses to former BNM Governor Tan Sri Jaffar Hussein.
Anwar was Finance Minister at the time of the forex scandal.

Abdul Murad said that Anwar had subsequently invited him on a trip to Hawaii, US, to explain the matter and was told to keep mum about it.

“Anwar invited me to join him on his flight to Hawaii to explain on the Forex losses as ordered by Jaffar. I explained to Anwar and he said he understands the losses and will be discussing with Jaffar about it.

“Anwar also commented that if the actual losses are revealed to the public, he would need to step down as Finance Minister,” Murad said in today’s inquiry, held at the Palace of Justice court complex here.

Murad also said that two years prior to that, he had already briefed about the losses to Jaffar but the latter had refused to believe him.

Poor Anwar - the sum was not a few hundred millions but tens and tens of BILLIONS - today that value would be 130 BILLION ringgit. And he was left holding the basket.

If you were Anwar, I bet you would have shivered and probably urinated in your pants. The sum wasted was just TOO STAGGERING. That's why former BNM governor could not believe his ears.

And now I hope you know how Mahathir cabinet ministers were shit scared of him during his reign, and you want to talk cock about collective responsibilities.

Mahathir as a dictator was non-compromising and intolerant. All of them were shit scared of him and thus he did just what he wanted.

Then Anwar came to know of the profligate waste of Malaysian ringgit, by the f**king BILLIONS. In short Anwar was a man who knew TOO MUCH.

Anwar became Finance Minister in 1991, was informed of the staggering FOREX loss in 1994, made his rescuing move for Malaysia in 1998 and was sacked in that same years.

I wonder whether Anwar was kowtim-ed to silence him.

  1. All the while I have believed that Anwar was not complicit in the actual Forex scheme, and this appears to confirm that as true. However, it looks like he was informed , but kept in under wraps.

Murad Khalid is talking about this 24 years too late... which makes his "revelation" now rather dubious.

I suppose he can claim that he was subject to OSA sanction, which an RCI has full power to set aside.
But his talking to the press last year was not under RCI conditions.... this Murad guy smells bad...how much is he being paid to talk ...only now.. ?

  2. Wakakakaka...who to believe le????

    https://m.malaysiakini.com/news/392796

Anwar Ibrahim had briefed Parliament in 1993, in his capacity as finance minister, on Bank Negara's losses at the foreign exchange market, said his lawyer R Sivarasa.

This, said Sivarasa, was a matter of public record and therefore would damage the credibility of former Bank Negara assistant governor Abdul Murad Khalid's testimony to the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) yesterday.

Murad had told the RCI that he had briefed Anwar about the losses in 1994 during a trip to Hawaii...

Many have their credibility NOW drowned in sh*tpool, including kt!!!

Wakakakaka...too rush to shoot & to claim brownie points.... sigh

    1. This RCI is a thoroughly cheapened circus, with Dedak-swallowing witnesses spewing manufactured "testimony" , cheered on by MSM prostitutes and dedak-swilling bloggers.
