KOTA KINABALU
The number of flood evacuees in Sabah rose this morning to 4,122 from 1,357 families, compared to 3,579 from 1,203 families yesterday.

The state disaster management committee secretariat reported that 743 people from 276 families were being housed at eight relief centres in Tenom as of 8am.

Beaufort meanwhile has 1,339 evacuees from 432 families at four relief centres while Membakut has 872 evacuees from 293 families at two centres.

In Sook, two relief centres are housing 1,031 people from 241 families while in Keningau, 137 people from 51 families are taking shelter at two centres.

“A total of 37 villages have been affected: 10 each in Beaufort, Membakut, and Tenom, as well as five in Sook and two in Keningau.

“The evacuation trend across relief centres remains unchanged,” the state disaster management committee secretariat said in a statement.
