Consider "... operation, which began at 1.15am was carried out after a week of intelligence gathering in response to complaints from residents about the influx of foreigners ..."
What if the residents did not complain?
This is an absolute nightmare, a constant threat and an unmitigated disgrace - for every illegal foreigner (without travelling documents and such like), there would be another 100 hiding under the immigration-police radar.
Recently we even had the police having a shootout with foreign criminals operating in our communities. Undoubtedly-in all probability there will be more. Some local operators are no doubt profiting from the illegal influx of these foreigners, but the damage and potential threat to Malaysians and Malaysia are frighteningly unimaginable. There must be a serious effort to removing these illegals from our nation. WTF is Saifuddin Nasution doing?
We have a lot of well paid civil servants who sit around drinking Teh Tarik until they receive information from the public.
ReplyDeleteAnd many, if not most , in the public distrust the authorities ,because in many cases the officials are also the Hantu, in cahoots with organised crime.
Not so obvious in Penang, but there are also pockets of areas in Penang which are almost little Rohingya-land and little Banglaland.
ReplyDeleteThe two are closely linked as they share most religious, cultural and ethnic basis.
Over time, I have learnt to understand why most Burmese regard Rohingyas as just Bangla immigrants in Burma ..Whether illegal or not is a matter of debate, and in any case Myanmar's treatment of them is inhumane and many cases of Crimes against Humanity.
