Face facts! Ismail Sabri is going to fail us too, Kadir Jasin says

AMID controversies over Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s recent appointment, a former Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) leader opined it was obvious the former has no capability to administer the country.

“Not only did he ‘recycled’ the Cabinet team, Ismail Sabri also retained the same redundant special envoys and he even added one more to it.

“And the icing to the cake was when former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin got appointed as the chairperson of the National Recovery Council (NRC),” A Kadir Jasin said, in a Facebook post.

Ever since ascending the premiership, Ismail Sabri courted brickbats on several matters such as retaining almost all the same faces from the previous Cabinet line-up.

He also retained PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, Datuk Seri Tiong King Seng of the Progressive Democratic Party and Datuk Seri Richard Riot of the Sarawak Democratic Party as special envoys.

Yesterday, Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Mohd Zuki Ali announced that Muhyiddin would be chairing the NRC and the decision received green light from the Cabinet.

On that note, Kadir said it was sheer madness that Muhyiddin was appointed to the post when the latter was instrumental for the mess the country is in right now.

“So, don’t get surprised if the ‘court cluster’ fellows get appointed to important positions later on. Who cares anyway? It’s not Ismail Sabri’s money, it’s just taxpayers’ funds being used.

“It’s obvious Ismail Sabri has scant respect over the people’s feelings and even has the audacity to insult their intelligence,” he lashed out.

The veteran newsman said that with the recent turn of events, the public would now be waiting for the next general election to punish Perikatan Nasional leaders for their failure.

“In this context, I’m sorry to say that most of our political parties are ‘infested’ with senior citizens. They should rejuvenate the parties by bringing in youngsters into its leadership team.

“We must seek for fresh and capable candidates to be presented as electoral candidates, including women. The older ones can serve as mentors or advisers to the new team.

“Any political parties that defy the people’s aspirations must be rejected outright,” Kadir Jasin concluded. – Sept 5, 2021.
