Jubilee (noun)
1. the celebration of any of certain anniversaries, as the twenty-fifth(silver jubilee) fiftieth (golden jubilee) or sixtieth or seventy-fifth(diamond jubilee)
2. the completion of 50 years of existence, activity, or the like, or its celebration: Our college will celebrate its jubilee next year.
Various extracts from the web: The menorah is one of the most recognizable and widespread symbols of Jewish culture and tradition in the world. It predates the Star of David, and is at the center of Hanukkah, the Jewish holiday that lasts eight days – though the menorah has been around longer than the events that inspired that tradition.
KUALA LUMPUR, June 5 — Organisers of the Jerusalem’s Jubilee event denied today allegations that it was promoting Zionism and said it was just a prayer gathering for Christians.
News portal The Malaysian Insight reported the organisers of the All Malaysian-Golden Gate Revival Convocation (AMGGRC) as saying in a statement that the event scheduled this month at a church in Melaka was a gathering for churches in Malaysia and the Asia-Pacific to pray for Malaysia and the region, as well as to understand the spiritual connotation and meaning of Jerusalem in the Christian bible.
“AMGGRC has no intention to provoke and challenge the sensitivities of Malays and Muslims in Malaysia,” the organisers were quoted saying.
“It definitely does not carry any political connotations, implications or whatsoever meaning related to it now or in the future. It is deeply regretted that what was started with a good intention to pray for the peace and prosperity of Malaysia has caused much confusion and misunderstanding among certain groups,” they added.

And now a word from Bishop Jason Selvaraj of Christ Church who was reported as saying:
[He] viewed the organisers of the Nations of the All Malaysian-Golden Gate Nation Revival Convocation (AMGGNRC) Golden Gate aligning with Jerusalem's Jubilee congregation, planned for June 15-18, as insensitive and unjustified.
“It is very insensitive of the organisers to use Jewish symbols," said Selvaraj.
“I believe Perkasa (Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa Malaysia) raised a legitimate and valid question. They cannot be so insensitive in a multi-racial country. I doubt the Christian Federation of Malaysia and Council of Churches in Malaysia are open to this.”

Hanukkah celebrates a miracle following a revolt by the Jews against foreign rule in 168-165 B.C.
There is no cultural and traditional symbol more Jewish than the menorah, which likely was formed on the concept of the ancient mythological idea of the Tree of Life.
There is also another school of thought that the menorah is a symbolic amalgam of the Tree of Life and another Israelite symbol of the divine presence, the burning bush of Moses, Israel's greatest prophet.
The ever lit menorah symbolises the ever presence of the Jewish God (YHWH) and the eternity and victory of the Jewish People. It is not unlike the saying of Hang Tuah about the Malay people a la Takkan Melayu Hilang di Dunia but with a very divine significance.
And just in case any dumbo misses the connection with the Jews, there is also a Hebrew word 'Shalom' on the stem of the depicted menorah to remind him or her of that.
As the above dictionary definition on 'Jubilee' means, it's a 50th anniversary celebration of Jerusalem, which if we count backwards, takes us to 1967 when Israel beat the Arabs in the 6-Day War and captured East Jerusalem from the Jordanians.
Israeli soldiers in East Jerusalem 1967 |
So the Golden Jubilee of Jerusalem is the celebration of the Israeli military conquest of East Jerusalem in 1967, allowing the government of Israel to 'unite' East and West Jerusalem into one.
It has nothing to do with Jesus Christ;
It has nothing to do with Christians;
It has nothing to do with known Christian celebrations or festivals;
It has nothing to do with Judaism;
(which considered Jesus as a heretic Jew)
It has nothing to do with Jews;
(there is a difference between a Jew, a race, and an Israeli, a nationality)
But it has EVERYTHING to do with Israelis, Israel and its 1967 military conquest of East Jerusalem from the Jordanians, and the Israelis' avowed intention to make Jerusalem its national capital and to build the Third Temple to YHWH there.

What utter crap!
Even Bishop Jason Selvaraj of Christ Church described the action as utterly insensitive, promoting a Zionist celebration as a guise under a Malaysian Christian celebration.
DPM and Home Minister Ahmad Zahid has done the correct thing in banning the celebration as that has NOTHING to do with Christianity and EVERYTHING to do with Israeli sinister nationalism which is not our concern.

I have a good mind to include the Calvary Life Assembly Chinese Church (CLAC) in my series of Malaysian Morons, wakakaka.
"The Calvary Life Assembly Chinese Church (CLAC)"
ReplyDeleteA moronic setup it's!
Don't u forget the biggest moron setup in bolihland, ye?
A bunch of blur-sotongs with highten (in)sensitivity, circling around their 'chosen' arabialized identity!
let's deal with each issue separately
DeleteAre they promoting violence ?
ReplyDeleteAre they expressing sympathy with Suicide Bombers ?
Are they swindling money from believers ?
Are they engaging in politics ?
Are they supporting Israeli occupation of territories beyond its internationally recognised borders ?
As far as I'm concerned, it is none of the above, it is a religious event, misguided though you may think it is.
I DO NOT CONDONE the Home Ministry interfering by banning peaceful exercise of non-Muslim religion in Malaysia.
Yet another tight slap against the Constitutional rights of non-Muslims in Malaysia.
With Misguided Ktemoc applauding simply because of his hatred of Israel.
By the way, I am a follower of Mahayana Buddhism, so I'm not defending them for any reasons of self-interest.
"Yes" to 1, 3, 4 and definitely 5 - in fact all.
DeleteInternationally Israeli occupation of East Jerusalem is NOT recognised nor accepted.
It is NOT a religious event. It is an Israeli nationalism celebration of 50th anniversary of the capture and occupation of East Jerusalem.
Dei...Aneh...I'm talking about the group in Malaysia.
DeleteWhere is the evidence for 1, 3, 4 ???
Anyone promoting violence in Malaysia should be arrested and charged in court, without exception.
I don't see anything.
5 is a long shot, pure suspicion without evidence.
and I was taling about Israel.
DeleteIf those pro Zionist Malaysians, then I would say yes to 4 and 5
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamization_of_East_Jerusalem_under_Jordanian_occupation
ReplyDeleteIt is often forgotten or deliberately overlooked by Arab supporters that from 1948 until it was ejected in 1967, Jordan placed a total blockade on Jewish access (NOT ISRAELI but anyone of the Jewish religion) as well as severe restrictions on Christians from entering East Jerusalem, the sites most holy to Jews and Christians. Only Muslims freely entered the zone sacred to the 3 religions.
That is why , at the time, the seizure of West Bank by Israel was greeted happily by Jews worldwide, and ranging from support to tacit acceptance by the majority of Christians in the West.
Israel has lost out much of the international support of those days through its heavy-handed actions in the West Bank , especially in recent years, but that is a separate story.
It is a Jewish celebration, stupid!
ReplyDeleteI support KT's "I have a good mind to include the Calvary Life Assembly Chinese Church (CLAC) in my series of Malaysian Morons, wakakaka." Wakakaka too..
more correctly Israeli, not so much Jewish
Delete"And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you, when each of you shall return to his property and each of you shall return to his clan." ~ Leviticus 25:10
DeleteThe Book of Leviticus is the third book of the Jewish Bible (Torah) and of the Old Testament. But I would go along with you that it is indeed an Israeli celebration rather than the Jews.
In 1917 the British invaded Jerusalem.
In 1967 the Israelis defeated combined armies of Egypt/Syria/Jordan to capture the West Bank, East Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip, the Golan Heights and the Sinai Peninsula.
In 2017 will the Israelis kill all the Palestians?
"There is no more Palestine": that's what the one eyed jack Moshe Dayan said to the TIME Magazine (30 July 1973), as on page 316 - The Iron Wall (Israel and the Arab World) by Avi Shlaim.
What do you guys have against Judaism ?
DeleteYou are just a gutter-low as the USA Alt-Right White-Supremacist groups who call for all Muslims to be sent back to their country of origin.
Tunku Abdul Rahman had a warm relationship with David Saul Marshall, the most prominent Jew in Singapore, and Singapore's first Chief Minister.
Malaysia had diplomatic relations with Israel from 1957 , but cut off ties after the 1967 War.
Tunku correctly understood Israel and Jews were two different matters, and he had no problem calling a good, decent Jew a Friend.
More likely in 2027 Iran uses its Islamic H-Bomb to destroy Israel and kill 6 Million Jews in the 2nd and Final Holocaust Solution.
DeleteObama bought a temporary reprieve through the Iran deal which relieved Iran from crippling international sanctions in return for Iran suspending (but not dismantling) its nuclear capability.
Some time in the next 10 or 20 years, Iran , which has vowed to destroy Israel, will have its H-Bomb.
It's a jubilant jubilee celebration of Israel's victory over Arabs by Christians here in Malacca. Thumbs up to CLAC for blessing Israel by their event. Those you who curse Israel, like you, will face the wrath of God. Repent and seek forgiveness.
ReplyDeletejust like you christians celebrate the occasion of judeans killing Jesus, and remember, pontius pilate washed his roman hands off the wholely judean affair - hallelujah
Delete'Organisers of the Jerusalem’s Jubilee event denied today allegations that it was promoting Zionism and said it was just A PRAYER GATHERING FOR CHRISTIANS'.
ReplyDeletewhat has the christian gathering got to do with the jewish or israeli celebration? will they be praying to expedite the second coming? are the organisers belonged to christian zionism?
jews have been waiting for their promised messiah, christians for the second coming & the muslims for their mahadi. same difference.
the christians who love hallelujahing are so smitten-ed by their devotion for jesus that they are like gullible guppies in believing everything that comes out of israel comes out of bethlehem. muslims need to look into the mirror too, wakakaka
DeleteMorons r trying their silo bigotry from their respective individual pigeon-holed (race & religion profiled) perspectives!!
ReplyDeleteLet me paraphrases a hot debate going round a recent CinaBeng festival, 端午节 duanwu jie.
There r a few writings commenting that the Cinapeks (not the Koreans who happen to celebrate the same date, with almost the same name but for different reason) SHOULDN'T celebrate 端午节 as it's a day of mourning for long death 'celebraties' like 屈原, 伍子胥, 曹娥 etc. It goes against the Chinese tradition of respecting the deaths!
There r writings stating that 端午节 predated all the incidents of noble deaths mentioned. It's a day based on the twenty-four seasonal 节气 to guide the Chinese agrarian activities. Thus, the celebration is in order! This celebration happens throughout China, unlike the celebrity deaths that r all regionalized.
The points here r:
1) what's the purpose of the celebration. Is it to uphold an event, a person, or a long-held tradition?
2) Is the date, place chosen has factual significance to the celebration?
Based on these same arguments, is the Nations of the All Malaysian-Golden Gate Nation Revival Convocation (AMGGNRC) Golden Gate aligning with Jerusalem's Jubilee congregation, planned for June 15-18 INSENSITIVE as claimed?
Besides, the organisers have stated that the event scheduled this month at a church in Melaka was a gathering for churches in Malaysia and the Asia-Pacific to pray for Malaysia and the region, as well as to understand the spiritual connotation and meaning of Jerusalem in the Christian bible.
“AMGGRC has no intention to provoke and challenge the sensitivities of Malays and Muslims in Malaysia,”
“It definitely does not carry any political connotations, implications or whatsoever meaning related to it now or in the future."
So what, if the menorah (predates the Star of David) is depicted in the poster!
Ain't Christianity is so deeply intertwined with the Jewish traditions?
Ain't Islam likewise?
"So the Golden Jubilee of Jerusalem is the celebration of the Israeli military conquest of East Jerusalem in 1967, allowing the government of Israel to 'unite' East and West Jerusalem into one."
REALLY???
Could it be a blurx2 ignorance of the jubilee organizers, happened to choose a biblical date that coincided with that shame-of-Arab date?
If so, there lies the insensitivity lah!
Don't capped them as Zionist sympathisers & promoters lah. They r man of cloth but r they man of sopo provocateurs??
Moreover, WHY must we, thousands of miles away, getting involve with a inter-coup (all Abrahamic origin mah) blood-hates?
Perhaps, some morons (just like those paranoid jihadist zombies) r deep into profiling the organizers of the event as Zionist sympathisers & promoters.
Seeing Zionist conspiracies everywhere & every which way le!!
How could u people read & mesmerized so deep into the sopo aspects MUST be due to yr overdrive imaginations of that hatred & the proverbial udang-di-belakang-batu le!!
For the zombies, I rest my argument!!!
KT, which is which of u????
as mentioned above, christians who love hallelujahing are so smitten-ed by their devotion for jesus that they are like gullible guppies in believing everything that comes out of israel comes out of bethlehem. muslims need to look into the mirror too, wakakaka.
Deletechristians (the hallelujahing type) could NOT see that golden jubilee in 2017 works backwards to 1967, the time when israel invaded and occupied east jerusalem, west bank, gaza, golan heights etc, thus the golden jubilee celebration will be about that military (israel nationalistic) achievement. it has NOTHING to do with christianity, those dumbos. why celebrate israel's military victory over a friendly nation like jordan, and which has NOTHING to do with christianity and churches?
don't forget, the judeans (ancestors of the israelis) killed jesus.
Zionist conspiracy theorists need to know that NO Israeli passport holder is allowed into Malaysia. Jihadist suicide bombers may come in without even a visa requirement, but Zero Israeli passport holders.
ReplyDeleteSo how did the invisible (ghaib) Zionists suddenly surface in Malacca ?
you don't need an Israeli to influence pro-Zionist Christians, though there had been Israelis working in Malaysia, as once for the RMP, wakakaka
DeleteSo what, if there r imaginary pro-Zionist Christians roaming & proselytizing high & low around in bolihland.
DeleteJust like there r readily suicidal-prone jihadist zombies threatening to make early appointment with the 72 houris, with innocent bystanders as a present.
The question HERE is the unequal treatments received by each party from the authority!
Yet a cockagroo can be so CLEARLY argued just based on one branch of that blood-thirty faith by a bleeding heart!
U de man!!
CK you're aggrieved with the racial inequality in Malaysia. While I can understand that (and I am also a fellow victim of Mahathir's BTN-ised ketuanan Melayu), that should NOT be translated to condone gullible Chinese Malaysian Christians celebrating an Israeli 1967 military victory over Jordan, a friendly nation to Malaysia. Pokoknya, hal 'ni bukan hal Kristian tetapi hal nationalisme-politic Israel, yg mana bangsanya (atau ulamanya, yaitu Sanhedrin) pada suatu saat membunuh Isa.
DeleteMatthew 26:57-67King James Version (KJV)
57 And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
58 But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.
59 Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;
60 But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,
61 And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.
62 And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?
63 But Jesus held his peace, And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
65 Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.
66 What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.
67 Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,
There's a story about the PDRM - Israel angle, told by a retiree who was apparently involved in the project (it was a big project, and many people were involved).
DeleteAt the time, PDRM put out a Contract requirement for a nationwide digital Communications and Database management system to support law enforcement. Pretty high-end stuff.
The usual way it works in Bolehland is various Connected (Crony) front-men will team up with technical providers to submit proposals.
The contract awarded in this case involved , on the surface, a Singapore company as the partner.
If you dug deeper, the technology, much of the hardware and software was of Israel origin. This was either unknowingly or intentionally overlooked by the Malaysian government.
When the project phase came to installation, training and support, the Singapore company's team included some foreign technical experts who came in with US passports.
It was an open suspicion among the Malays in the PDRM team that these "Semitic-looking" Americans were actually from the hated Israel...
Please lah...WHY must we, thousands of miles away, getting involve with an inter-cult (all Abrahamic origin mah) blood-hates?
DeleteRight???
Whatever u've quoted reflect the dogmas of a religious cult mah!!!
R u going to swallow them all & sundry???
Then, what differences r u from those zombies???
agreed we should not be involved with Abrahamic feuds among its cults or branches, which has been why I oppose the Calvary Church celebrating a (foreigner) Israeli military victory
