Happy 57th Birthday Malaysia

I acknowledge that Sabah and Sarawak (and Singapore) officially joined Malaya to form Malaysia only on 16 September 1963, but in actuality Tunku and the 3 State leaders had agreed on and planned the merger for 31 August that same year.

It was Indonesia's late President Soekarno (and the SUPP) who questioned and objected to Sabah and Sarawak merging with Malaya which led to a fact-finding commission before the 'yes' vote was ascertained, and the new state of Malaysia came into being on 16 September 1963.

What do we see after 57 years of self rule particularly for Peninsula Malaysia (Malaya)?

Ah Jib Gor gives us this 3-part message:

* Strengthen the solidarity of Malaysians, including unity in grief, in the face of challenges and tests.

* Cultivate confidence that we can achieve any ambitions as a nation if there is unity.

*  Leaving behind a prosperous and peaceful Malaysia

But he may have problems achieving his 3 admittedly very noble aims because we know that UMNO wants ketuanan Melayu, and yes, PAS also wants ketuanan Melayu, as confessed very recently by a PAS leader, Exco Pemuda PAS Dr Fadli Ghani).

Islam is supranationalistic which means PAS' claimed Islamic credentials have been subordinated to its ethno-nationalistic preference, which in turn means it's just a branch of UMNO, which actually is a fact, that PAS was a branch or splinter group of UMNO as PKR was too, wakakaka.

I am not sure what this PAS' message means for the future of Pakatan, but I suspect it will be gloomy.

MCA is actually dead but moving along only due to business, to wit, a political zombie without support from the group it claims to represent, the Chinese Malaysians, and surviving in zombie state only at the sufferance of Ah Jib Gor - I suspect he wants to deal with it in a big way (maybe I'll blog on it soon, wakakaka).

Anyway, MCA wants ketuanan perniagaan.

MIC is no better than MCA. It only wants senatorship, datukship and the buruh ship.

Wait, wasn't that how it started on 31 August 1957, Perikatan consisting of UMNO, MCA and MIC?

Merdeka Merdeka Merdeka!

Good Lord, was Tunku waving a keris?
If he was, somehow he didn't frighten us as the cousins did.

wakakaka

Happy birthday Malaysia.

  2. In the spirit of inclusiveness and unity, isn't it high time Malaysia Day is celebrated more on a grand scale than Merdeka Day?

At least the East Malaysians don't feel left out? Merdeka Day does not have much significance compared to the day Malaysia was formed.

What's stopping the Govt to acknowledge it? Or is it Malayans after celebrating it for tha past 57 years find it difficult to change the date to accommodate the East Malaysians?

  4. Today me and my spouse attended an Indian wedding. To blend in I wore pants and kurta with pashmina shawl around my neck. My wife wore baju kurung made from saree cloth. We were there for about 4 hours to watch the ceremony from the start. To my surprise there were a lot of cina and melayu amongst the guests. Some in tudungs and skull caps and with peppered beard too. It was soo meriah one. We even joined the crowd for a bollywood dance and we felt like Kajol and Amitabh Bachchan. We totally forgot about Dato' Maharajalela who murdered J.W.W. Birch. Wow... we had a great and best Merdeka Day indeed.

  5. I'm sorry to say, at the rate it is being governed, Malaysia will not survive another 57 years.
Or it may survive at Zimbabwe-style levels. There may well end up Malaysian maids becoming its chief source of foreign exchange.

    1. This is how a Malay government is leading our country to......

    2. This is quite true - they are holding all the important posts where the decisions they make affect ALL Malaysians. Unfortunately, when you look at the outcome - everything they touched turned into abject failures; what was once healthy and thriving, in their hands soon wilt and die. MAS is one very good example; there are others.

This is not being racist and unjustly discriminatory. Telling me that I have a big, red, ugly pimple on the tip of my nose may make me feel offended and angry, but that doesn't mean I don't have a pimple on my nose. IT IS THERE AND THE WHOLE WORLD CAN SEE IT.

  6. Good Lord, was Tunku waving a keris?
No, I think that's just his hand, though he's got a keris tucked away in his sampin.

If he was, somehow he didn't frighten us as the cousins did.
Well, it kinda helps if you don't go around blowing up models with C4 explosives. Or in the case of his cousin, just looking like a drunken African tin-pot dictator (I personally blame it on the flared nostrils).

  7. Yo, KT, re the Ah Jib Gor 3-part message, the 3rd part seems to suggest an unfortunate corollary, viz:

Leaving behind a prosperous and peaceful Malaysia ...... leaving for what? A poverty-stricken and strive-riven, racially contentious Malaysia ?! Hahaha, Ah Jib Gor surely doesn't mean that but looking at how things are going nowadays suggests that it is exactly the kind of future Malaysia is moving towards.

For example, seeing how scores of law-abiding citizens being arrested in your ol' hometown certainly won't set optimism for the future aflame. It appears to be a clearcut case of racial bias and political partisanship on the part of public servants who are supposed to be neutral. It smells suspiciously of vindictive spitefulness because the province is ruled by the "wrong" party.

  8. 100% of the Penang PPS members arrested have been Cina with a few Kelings thrown in for "balance".
100% of the Polis carrying out the crackdown are Melayu.

What a wonderful piece of racial unity in Malusia on Merdeka-shit day.....

    1. how can the PPS be 100% Cina YET has Indian members?

looks like your 100% is less than 100% wakakaka

and r u sure there's no Malay in PPS?

    2. The Indians are actually Chinese who happened to spend too much time in the sun and got over-tanned! ;-)

    3. As I mentioned - PPS member arrested - not the same issue as the total racial make up of PPS - have been 100% Cina.

The Keling arrested was RSN Rayer.
