Save Kelantan sends 'condolence' message to Husam
Former Amanah vice-president Husam Musa is allegedly not being nominated to contest any parliamentary seat in Kelantan in the next general election.
Save Kelantan activist Mohd Hisyamuddin Ghazali, who is better known as Syam Ghaz, gave an insight into the matter through a post on Facebook, yesterday.
"My condolences to Husam Musa, the chairperson of Save Kelantan and the head of the Kota Bharu Amanah division for not being nominated for a parliamentary seat in the 15th general election in Kelantan," he said simply.
Husam, who is also a former Kelantan government state executive councillor from 2004 to 2013, ran for the Kota Bharu parliamentary seat in 2018 and lost to PAS candidate Takiyuddin Hassan with a majority of 5,869 votes.
He has also previously served as Kubang Kerian MP from 1999 to 2004 and a member of the Dewan Negara from 2018 to 2021.
In September 2020, he resigned from the position of vice president of Amanah and then actively became more involved with Save Kelantan.
Malaysiakini understands that Amanah will be fielding Kelantan Amanah Women head Dr Hafidzah Mustakim as a candidate in Kota Bharu.
In addition, sources have revealed that Amanah will contest seven parliamentary seats in Kelantan, namely Kota Bharu, Pengkalan Chepa, Rantau Panjang, Tumpat, Kuala Krai, Pasir Puteh and Kubang Kerian.
Husam is the Kelantan leader who never quite made it.
ReplyDeleteI had expected at some point he would be Kelantan MB, but it was not to be.
