Self-interest is Azmin-PN’s only ‘interest’ [plus Sandakan sojourn, wakakaka]

Malaysiakini:

Self-interest is Azmin-PN’s only ‘interest’

YOURSAY | ‘If you cared for unity and rakyat, you wouldn’t have instigated Sheraton Move.’

Goliath: Senior Minister Azmin Ali, one of the main reasons why Perikatan Nasional (PN) is in such disunity is the fact that you and your band of Pakatan Harapan defectors had joined Bersatu.

There were red eyes across the cabinet due to the fact that you were the one who initially destroyed Umno’s reputation in the last general election, pointed out the corruption in the BN government, thrashed PAS in its extremism views, and made a mockery of the entire BN component parties.

Yet here you are walking side by side with the prime minister, given a high-ranking position - the deputy PM seat is just within your reach - and given privileges by the main man not accorded to the rest of the Umno members.

Azmin, you should first provide a full public apology, tell the voters you had lied in the last general election about these parties and relinquish this high position of yours to your so-called Umno friends.

And maybe, just maybe, you can then be the agent of unity to this government that is not elected by the people.

Annonymoussi: Look who is appealing to people to set aside personal interests? After betraying the people to achieve his personal interests, he now calls for the people to set aside personal interests.

Setting aside personal interest means you step down from your positions and let others take over so that there will be less infighting for positions which is good for the country. Can you do it to show that you live up to your own words?

Who is going to set aside personal interests when you are constantly fighting among yourselves? You need to practice what you preach.

Otak-Otak: What an insult! Isn’t this a unity Malay-Muslim PN government? Never before have we seen such aggressive open fighting among this so-called same race and same religion coalition.

All of these are laid right in front of the public to see. Yet all these power-crazy politicians still shamelessly ‘stick’ together as the government of the day. It doesn't matter if it's a backdoor.

Mugi: Azmin, my advice to you is to keep your mouth sealed, do not preach.

I do not think you are the man who can talk about unity. Your unity is only one-sided - that of Malay unity - but if the country is not united, what is it all for?

Malaysia cannot move forward with people like you. There will be a lot of infighting and chaos. With PAS as a friend, we will soon move into a cave.

JackJack: If Azmin really cared for the people and is a proponent of unity, he wouldn’t have made the Sheraton Move. Look at what a mess the country is in now.

The weakest party with the weakest PM are the ones leading the country. When there is no good leadership, this is what happens. The parties will fight until the kingdom comes.

Libra: Yes, look who is talking about unity. I wonder if it is normal for them. They do a bad thing and yet have no remorse. Then they act as if nothing happened. What a shame.

Myviews: Azmin, when you were in Pakatan Harapan, you keep stirring up problems and blame DAP for controlling the government.

Now you have an all-Malay government (MCA and MIC are for decorations only), why are you all still fighting?

Every instrument of governance is in your hands, and a year has gone by, but what has the all-Malay government achieved?

This goes to show that all of you are filled with greed to the brim. Working for self-interest is your first and only priority. Never for the rakyat.

It is time for Harapan to take the offensive. Go all out to attack these weaknesses within PN.

FairMalaysian: Azmin thinks it will be an easy life after he defected. However, the Malay parties will "slaughter" him and throw him to the vultures.

Caught between the devil and the deep blue sea, Azmin's political life began to unravel soon after he deserted PKR and Harapan. He will eventually know what it means to be part of a "Malay" coalition.

Having severed the bridge to multicultural politics, the backlash will be severe. The battle lines are all too clear - no to Azmin, fellow defector Zuraida Kamaruddin and all those who deserted the voters who voted for them under the PKR/Harapan ticket.

Blueshark1548: Azmin, what kind of interests is it when MPs are enticed to join your Bersatu, an emergency declared and Parliament suspended, the opposition persecuted in courts and hauled up for questioning by authorities?

Bersatu makes the decisions and Umno has to follow, double standards in law enforcement, appointing MPs to government-linked companies so that they can get additional incomes?

Since Umno’s declaration of non-cooperation with Bersatu, you are now desperate because without Umno, Bersatu is going to be wiped out.

Certainly, Zuraida and you would be voted out. Umno is not going to collapse from Bersatu’s tactics and pressure.

Milshah: I think GE15 will have something for all the voters to be satisfied with. For non-voters, although Harapan is defeated, at least PN is defeated as well. This includes Azmin.

It will be interesting to see how Azmin can win his Gombak seat again with only PAS and Bersatu voters.

For many Malays, Umno will once again lead the country. For them, issues that happened during Harapan’s time will be put to rest with the ‘grand old party’ becoming the government again.

IndigoTrout2522: Azmin should look into the mirror. He is the main instigator and cause of so much of today’s mess. His message is to PN component parties, but Umno is not a PN component party.

Now, he is worried that he will lose his Gombak seat. Indeed, Bersatu will lose when competing against Harapan and Umno.

Kita Orangbiasa: Oh yes, the people of Gombak are waiting to set Azmin aside too!
