Zahid says Umno no longer at crossroads after formalising split with Bersatu for GE15

KUALA LUMPUR, March 28 — Umno’s official decision to end its political cooperation with Bersatu for the 15th general election meant the party is no longer divided on the matter, president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said.
Speaking to the press after the conclusion of the party's 75th annual general assembly this weekend, Zahid said the motion introduced to the delegation and the party leadership today to sever ties with Bersatu was unanimously accepted.
“Because the general assembly is the highest governing body in Umno, as stated in its constitution, once it has decided on a huge policy, its members must fully abide on decision that was made by the party
“And because of that, there shouldn’t be any claims or rumours out there that Umno is at a crossroads. Umno is not at a crossroads. The decision made by the general assembly has been very clear,’’ he said.
Zahid also said the party was considering another ultimatum, which is to immediately withdraw support for Perikatan Nasional the moment the Emergency is lifted on August 1 or earlier, but added that this will be discussed at length in the next supreme council meeting.
“The delegation today has unanimously given their support to the party president and the supreme council to call for an election the moment the state of Emergency is lifted on August 1 or an earlier date,’’ said Zahid.
Earlier today, Zahid said in his policy speech for the general assembly that Umno under Barisan Nasional will head into the elections alone, and reject any notion of joining forces with PN.
Zahid also warned that disciplinary action would be taken against “parasites” within the party who have tried to undermine the decision made by the party today.
On January 11, the Yang diPertuan Agong declared a state of Emergency after the prime minister advised him that one was needed to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, the federal Opposition and even some in Umno have asked if the move was meant to prevent a possible change of government
The Emergency also gives Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and his Cabinet extraordinary powers, such as introducing laws without the approval of Parliament.

kt notes:
So, Zahid has talaq x 3 PPBM, full stop and wakakaka.
But he has to, or PPBM will eventually swallow up gravy-hungry UMNO people. It's to be either UMNO or PPBM, no other way, only one can live, the way Mahathir designed PPBM. Who knows, maybe that old devil may eventually emerge from behind the curtain to take a bow and reign once again as Dictator Supreme, wakakaka.
Muhyiddin did a few things wrong, to wit:
(a) He didn't ameliorate for UMNO top leaders - yes, it's wrong to do so but did you for a moment imagine Muhyiddin worried about principles/scruples. He did not kow-tim for Najib, Zahid and others not because he has been scrupulous but because he wanted them all disposed off one way or another, and the court charges, once proven and confirmed, should eliminate those dangerous competing leadership in Dunia Melayu. But that takes time but alas, time is not on Muhyiddin's side.
(b) He also failed to "take care" of the lower ranks in UMNO, his PPBM people being just too bloody greedy - Perak was a prime example of PPBM arrogance where 1 PPBM person reigned (at least for a while) as MB while UMNO ADUNs had to look on in jealous agony.
(c) He actually has a disadvantage in having Ass-binte as his sidekick. While Ass-binte may be an expert in Machiavellian politics, sheer treachery and betrayal, and that was how he inveigles himself into the grace of the PM by wrecking havoc on UMNO, Pejuang and Pakatan (particularly Anwar), he was lousy as a minister. His expertise only brought TEMPORARY relief for Muhyiddin but alas very little economic nor governmental efficacy - thus only tactical benefits but none for the strategic performance of the PPBM-PN government.
Finally, Zahid (and no doubt with Najib behind him) plus Ku Li agitated and aroused enough fury within UMNO ranks to declare war on PPBM. Such is their anger that Zahid and other leaders saw fit to also thumb their noses at PAS, Muafakat Nasional or not, with a warning for PAS to stop slutting slying around with PPBM or face the ugly consequences - as George Bush Jnr put it: Either you're with us or against us.
I'm looking forward to see the eff-ing destruction of PPBM bearing in mind it's Mahathir's (previous) party with Ass-binte, Zuraida, Azumu, Doraemon, Menteri Kipas - all should be destroyed kaukau. And if Pejuang with its evil Chairman can be annihilated along PPBM, so much the better. And I include in that lot the bloody hypocritical PAS.
Anytime now Toonsie 3.0 will come swooping in to Settle everything ha ha ha....
