Zahid zany zitty tea-leaves reading

NST - Disaster in Penang shows it is time for BN to take over - DPM (extracts):

He also described the floods as another “sign from God” to end DAP’s nine-year reign in the state.

“God has shown his wrath to those who boasted that Penang is supposedly free from floods. What had happened is a signal from God that this is the best time for us to regain the Penang state government.

“Yes, we had lost Penang for nine years. But our loss is only temporary. We will wrest back Penang. It is not impossible and this can happen. I ask that Gerakan strengthen their machinery and Umno is ready to assist,” Zahid said.

Yes, Ahmad Zahid, who has the infamous notoriety of possessing a mouth that speaks faster than his brain could act, told the principal Chinese-dominated BN-party, Gerakan, to prepare to take over Penang from the DAP.

Zahid was essentially aping a Kelantanese's (blasphemous) tea-leaves reading in 2014.

Three years ago Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz (son of allahyarham Pak Haji Nik Aziz) wrote in his Facebook page, which was duly reported in a couple of Malaysian news portals, that the floods in Kelantan then were intended to remind Muslims to return to Allah’s path, and of the necessity in implementing the Islamic penal code in the state.

That moron remarked: “The flood is a reminder to all Muslims to return to Allah’s ways and stay away from His wrath.

“It necessitates the perseverance of the Kelantan government to implement hudud laws.”

But why do I call him a moron for relaying to us the wrath of Allah swt in His Divine manifestation of anger at Kelantanese, Terengganuans, Perlis-ians and Pahangites by flooding their states, where tens of thousands of the suffering rakyat in those states, mainly Muslims, had to be evacuated from their homes due to the frightening deluge in their regions.

not quite like his father, wakakaka, in fact far from being the clone of the illustrious allahyarhum Nik Aziz

Yes sir, only a moron like the dear Yang Berhormat at that distressful natural-disaster moment provided us with his most halal opinion that Allah swt was very angry (wrathful) with the mainly Muslim Malaysians in Kelantan, Terengganu, Perlis and Pahang.

Only non-morons, unlike moronic Nik Abduh, knew the Muslims in those states, especially in Kelantan and Terengganu, had been the most pious Muslims in support of Hadi Awang and PAS and their UUD355.

Thus Nik Abduh flabbergasted us with his warning to them that "the flood is a reminder to all Muslims to return to Allah’s ways and stay away from His wrath" when those very pious Muslims never did wander away from His Divine path.

Perhaps their only and very itsy bitsy teeny weeny 'sin' was to listen gullibly to the ulamaks of those states, who like Nik Abduh, acted (most blasphemously) at times as if they have a direct telephone line to Allah swt.

To recapitulate, based on Nik Abduh's most halal advice, Allah swt wrecked His Divine punishment on very pious Muslim (but deemed 'wayward' by the moron) in Kelantan and Terengganu by sending the devastating floods.

Sadly several Muslims in Kelantan and Terengganu perished in that 2014 flood, while more than two hundred thousands (200,000+) in the East Coast were forced to evacuate their flooded homes.

But I wondered and still do, why was it, as per Nik Abduh's warning statements above (in his Facebook page), that Allah swt targeted mainly pios Muslim supporters of PAS' avowed intention to implement hudud?

Would Nik Abduh come up with another (but Christian-highly-used) piece of wisdom that Allah swt acted in 'mysterious' ways?

Anyway, fast forward to last month, we have Zahid using Nik Abduh's Alakazam-formula to motivate BN blokes in Penang.

Alakazam strangely has the Chinese name of Sun Wukong

Admittedly, Zahid was better than Nik Abduh in that he motivated while the latter frightened, wakakaka, but then the latter's moronic act has been typical of PAS' scare tactics.

Anyway, to get to the point, based on Zahid zany zitty reading of the tea leaves (from Cameron Highlands, no less), every state in Peninsular Malaysia will see the floods as another “sign from God” to end the incumbent ruling party’s reign in the state, wakakaka, meaning PAS may lose to UMNO in Kelantan, UMNO to PAS in Terengganu, UMNO to DAP in Negeri Sembilan and Johor, so on so forth.

DAP's darkest moment of non-principle

Star Online - Pakatan's proposal for Dr M and Wan Azizah to lead country meets opposition (extracts):

Pakatan Harapan has formally proposed Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as its candidate for prime minister and Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as his deputy if the coalition triumphs in the next general election.

However, the decision, which was announced at the end of the coalition's two-day retreat in Putrajaya, ran into opposition from some attendees including a senior PKR leader.

According to multiple sources, Pribumi Youth leader Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman revealed that an internal poll showed that Selangor Mentri Besar and PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali was a leading choice among the wing's leaders.

The choice of Dr Mahathir and Dr Wan Azizah was apparently agreed upon by the top five leaders, or G5, of Pakatan on the sidelines of the retreat.

G5 refers to Pakatan chairman Dr Mahathir, president Dr Wan Azizah and deputy presidents Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Lim Guan Eng and Mohamed Sabu.

Wan Azizah has been selected solely because she is the putative Boss of PKR and also the wife of, thus representing, iconic Anwar Ibrahim.

Anwar has always been the anointed leader of Pakatan Harapan but with his incarceration, Mahathir as the next & only reputable Malay leader of some strength has now been coopted and 'boosted' because of his supposed reputation (bad or good) that PH needs to break into the Heartland, a beachhead aim which useless PKR and even more useless PAS (once a PR member) have failed to achieve in 2008 and 2013.

As another Malay leader, Azmin Ali would be far far more capable (and willing) than Wan Azizah but alas, he is NOT trusted by many, especially in a sector of his own PKR, and in DAP. The latter (DAP) fears Azmin's (and Tian Chua's, wakakaka) notorious double-speak which the Rocket Party experienced to its immense agony and fury in Sarawak.

where's my stiletto?

OTOH, DAP as a credible federal opposition party has successfully captured the major Chinese and Indian dominated areas. Though its political aim has thus been achieved, damn and doggone it, it still has to wait frustratingly for PKR (and previously PAS) to do likewise (futilely) ... to such an extent it falls upon a Mahathir, currently desperate for an alliance, any alliance, to promote his OWN political aim (nothing to do with saving Malaysia).

If Najib has been more kuai kuai to his 'Uncle' Mahathir, the old man would not even have looked at the Cinakui DAP, let alone deign to speak to them.

Other than that, really, no one in DAP, PKR, Amanah wants to touch Mahathir the Mafulat Mahafiraun with a ten-foot pole, his 'bromance' with Lim Kit Siang notwithstanding.

Think of it, PH has just officially nominated its erstwhile enemy, a 93-year old former dictator with many alleged misdeeds yet to be properly accounted for, as its PM-designate. How sad and pathetic PH is.

To make things worse, it also nominates Wan Azizah, a known 'reluctant' politician, in another pathetic attempt to mollify some die-hard anti-Mahafiraun-ists in PKR. I have to at least acknowledge those PKR die-hards' resistance to a pact with a known Devil.

Meanwhile in the DAP camp, Lim Kit Siang has already bulldozed his personal 'strategy' (of power-craziness in his swansong act) of enlisting Mahathir as PH's new Boss. It's the DAP's darkest moment of non-principle, just because of one man governed by his own political twilight moment of power-craziness.

I am not sure how many in DAP have been embarrassed by Lim Kit Siang's power-obsessed strategy to ally the Rocket Party with its once arch-foe, but take for example, Kit Siang's two decades (20 years+) old campaign to 'probe' (investigate) Mahathir & gang for the FOREX loss of RM30.5 Billion (not mere millions) died a sudden/abrupt questionable death the moment the unspeakable abhorrent alliance between Mahathir and Lim took place.

He even supported the MACC just a mere year after after he promised Teoh Beng Hock's family he would seek justice for TBH falling to his death from the 14th Floor of the MACC HQ in Shah Alam while undergoing MACC interrogation.

The Mr Sellout of DAP!

DAP leader Lim Kit Siang shook hands with Rohaizad Yaakob, a top Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) official to show the opposition’s solidarity with the MACC

Yet just a year earlier Kit Siang in his article, titled "Malaysians will not rest until justice is done for the killing of Teoh Beng Hock" said DAP and Pakatan Rakyat would continue to highlight the injustice of Teoh Beng Hock’s unresolved murder

what utter bullshit

forgotten? justice for him abandoned by LKS

How could Lim Kit Siang even consider supporting MACC? Has Lim no principle at all?

How fickle could Lim Kit Siang's principles be when he allowed into the once-hallowed halls of the DAP the grubby politics of unsavoury convenience?

Apa lagi 'principle' Lim Kit Siang ada?

And if the current PH's shameful cry to forget about a 20+ year-old national scandal in the FOREX loss, please explain why Lim Kit Siang was still campaigning for a RCI into the FOREX misuse of national funds ... until his alliance with Mahathir a mere 2 years ago?

Shouldn't he have stop campaigning for a RCI into FOREX say, 10 or 15 years ago, or even 5?

"No nid to cx anymore mah, Mahathir now kaki-lang?"

How disgusting has been Lim Kit Siang's politics of no-principle.

It indicates how a 20+ years of persistent campaign to investigate Mahathir for his alleged misuse of Bank Negara finances without cabinet approval (of 'real' sum, not 'misinformed' amount) and indeed without any 'check & balance' as if his grandfather owned that money, has been thrown away on a whim & fancy by Lim KS for a highly questionable alliance.

However, I have advised my family to continue voting for DAP, especially in Penang, but NOT if the candidate in their respective electorates is Lim Kit Siang. The f**king traitor who betrayed our trust and love for him through the years.

Dog Year coming up

God.

To many, a sacred, scary or sensitive word, or all 3.

By the by, as an atheist I of course don't believe in one. Thus I'm not being blasphemous (no blasphemy in atheism) when I toy around with the 3-letter word 'god'. I note that if I flip its spelling around I would surprising get the word 'dog'.

Dog. A lovable man's 'best friend' or a detestable 'unclean' creature or in a number of countries, a creature with delicious meat. Yet in the English spelling, it's virtually the 'flip-side' of god.

I don't propose to dwell on the amazing qualities of dog and its beneficial abilities to mankind in almost every respect, from guard to guide dog, from tracker to rescuer to companion, etc. But Muslims in Malaysia (of the Shaf'ie school of Islamic jurisprudence) in general not only consider dogs as unclean but some have taken 'extraordinary' measures to marginalise the poor creatures which are loved by non-Muslims.

June Wong, a regular columnist at the Star Online, related an example: Local councils have also made it harder for houseowners to keep dogs, especially in Muslim-majority neighbourhoods. My niece and her husband did all they could to meet the requirements and ensured their Pomeranian did not bother their neighbours when they moved in. But the pressure, at first subtle and finally openly hostile, forced them to give their beloved pet away.

June worries about the Muslims' detestation for dogs, so much so that she fears such revulsion and the Chinese effort to accommodate their abhorrence of canines will affect Chinese celebrations of the coming new lunar year, for that happens to be the new year of the Dog.

For example, June tells us those in marketing, are now cautious of designing company’s Chinese New Year ang pow packet which in the past incorporated the incoming animal into the company's design, where they had previously featured the horse, goat, monkey, rooster, etc. But she has been told there is unofficial word by many not to feature the dog for 2018.

We see the increasing detestation of dogs in recent years to an extent that we witnessed the ludicrous Aunt Anne's doggie issue, which caused Ministers to criticise JAKIM's overreach in a moronic demand for the hot dog fast-food chain to rename its signature food.

In July this year JAKIM again in the very person of its Director-General outrageously, persecutorially and blasphemously denounced a Muslim woman for owning a pet dog, and ordered her to repent for her so-called 'sin'.

For a start the DG of JAKIM did not have any divine authority to decide what is a 'sin'. Secondly, he does not also have any state authority to issue a fatwa on any so-called 'sin'. Thirdly, he lied about the so-called 'sin' which many Muslims including Muslim preacher Wan Ji Wan Hussin proved was/is not a sin.

Wan Ji said that there is no part of the Quran or hadith which says that it is 'haram' (forbidden) for Muslims to touch dogs.

It's obvious Jakim D-G Othman Mustapha should be punished kau kau for the blasphemous sins of:

(i) issuing fake fatwa when he has no authority to do so,

(ii) for interfering in the jurisdiction of the mufti and religious councils,

(iii) worst of all, for blasphemously putting his syiok-sendiri words into the divine mouth of Allah swt.

I recommend 100 lashes of flogging to be executed by Siti Kasim, wakakaka.

JAKIM and a couple of its states' kin (JAWI, JAIS) have been notoriously and shamefully disgraceful to Islam. Really, to protect the good name of Islam, both JAKIM and JAWI should be shut down while JAIS is the prerogative of HRH Selangor.

HM Sultan Johor and Zaid Ibrahim have both questioned the ridiculous annual budget of JAKIM at RM1 Billion when what it significant did was to warn a woman against keeping dog (illegally and blasphemously at that too).

HM Sultan Johor

Alas, come what may, next Chinese Year will be that of the Earth Dog, where the animal is No 11th in the Chinese pantheon of 12 while the element is Earth. Of the 12 animals in the Chinese astrological calendar, the dog is the MOST loyal.

Recently in South Korea, a dog refused to leave its owner for 2 weeks even after she died alone in the house. Police on investigating the place following complaints by neighbours of a terrible smell emanating from the house found 'Rover' still besides the decomposing corpse which by the way was NOT tampered in the least by the starving dog.

The poor creature had not feed itself for that 2 weeks, making police wonder how it survived without food or partaking of the flesh of the corpse as it kept vigil over its late owner's body.

But what happens after the Lunar Year of the Dog in February 2018?

In the year 2019, the No 12th animal of the Chinese astrological calendar that reigns is the pig, which Muslims abhor even more than the canine.

characteristics of people born in Year of Pig

June Wong believes that the Malay word 'babi' is so horrible to today's Muslims that they prefer to refer to Porky or Petunia as 'khinzir'.

I personally believe it's not so much Malays avoiding mention of the 'babi' word than preferring to talk a la 'sophisticated, cultured or ultra-religious' by using an Arabic word.

But I wonder why God instructed Noah to take the pigs and dogs on board the Ark?

Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female - Genesis 7:2 (KJV)

If the dogs and pigs were/are unclean, God should have left them to disappear like the unicorns, dragons, and phoenixes, etc.

But as Christians will tell you, God works in mysterious ways, wakakaka.

Khalid Ibrahim to help UMNO win Selangor

Star Online - Khalid Ibrahim to help BN wrest Selangor in GE14:

Former Selangor menteri besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim says he will help Barisan Nasional wrest Selangor from Pakatan Harapan in the 14th General Election (GE14).

"I am ready to help Umno and Barisan in Selangor and with any others if it is for the good and prosperity of the rakyat and state," he told reporters after attending the opening of the Selangor Umno Convention at PWTC on Saturday.

The Bandar Tun Razak MP said that he will lend his experience and use his influence to win support for Barisan.

In October, after attending a fundraising hi-tea by Selangor PAS, Khalid had said that he would campaign for the Islamist party in the upcoming polls.

On this point, the former mentri besar said that this did not conflict with his support of Umno.

"I am still an independent and there is some good in this. It gives me the freedom to work with whoever helps unite the faithful for the good of the state," he said.

Khalid, who is also Port Klang assemblyman, added that he would not be defending his seat in the coming general election.

"The worry that I am helping so that I can secure a seat in the coming polls does not arise at all," he said.

Khalid was sacked from PKR for his refusal to vacate the Selangor mentri besar post in 2014.

There exists between Khalid and PKR Selangor (and indeed the Anwar family) very bad blood stemming from the unnecessary circus between him and Pakatan Rakyat in 2014, after the Rafizi-contrived Kajang by-election.

Years later, in fact in September 2017 (this year) we were informed by an angry Latheefa Koya that Rafizi had deviously and indeed unnecessarily created the Kajang by-election to elevate Anwar Ibrahim to be MB principally to block his intra-party foe Azmin Ali from becoming MB Selangor.

But leaving aside the Kajang bullshit, did she also imply PKR already had their dagger out for Khalid Ibrahim since Azmin was touted by her as the MB-to-be that worried Rafizi? In other words, there might have been already plans to get rid of Khalid and to make Azmin the replacement MB?

PAS members in the state government at that time split into exco who were still loyal to PR and those treacherously siding with a MB who had already lost the confidence of his erstwhile colleagues.

'Lost confidence' in political parlance means they wanted him to vacate the MB position for whatever reasons, and to make way for Wan Azizah (hubby's replacement in Kajang by-election which of course she won).

But amazingly for a parliamentarian, Khalid refused to obey his party, wakakaka. In his rebellious act I did and still do wonder how much HRH's very strong confidence at that time in him had been influential in his bizarre decision.

Indeed, HRH was right royally riled by Khalid's ouster, and on 26 September 2014 (during the swearing in of the new MB and exco) took the unusual step of publicly stating his regard for Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, the former state mentri besar at the centre of a prolonged leadership crisis this year, saying that the man was the victim of smear campaigning by his own party, PKR.

Using his speech to attack Pakatan Rakyat, the Sultan said Khalid had executed the duties of a mentri besar “successfully and perfectly” and that the leadership crisis was triggered by Pakatan Rakyat’s plans to oust Khalid by engineering a by-election in Kajang to allow de facto opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to enter the fray.

He said repeated accusations had been aimed at Khalid to force him to step down and that the tactic had been employed through the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan despite the palace’s reminders about maintaining the sanctity of the month.

The new MB Azmin Ali, said of the Sultan’s remarks that “It is good advice.”

Wakakaka, vintage Azmin Ali. This bloke will survive everyone including Anwar, Mahathir, Najib, Zahid, Mukhriz etc etc etc to one day become PM.

But what followed Khalid's 'divorce' from PKR was a series of blame and counter blame between him and his former colleagues.

Khalid has been basically a businessman. a head of a conglomerate like PNB and Guthrie, and had to be said that while he was MB he was very thrifty with state finances, saving lots and lots.

Therein was his problem as a politician because state finances (revenue) earned should not just be saved but be correctly used to provide services, amenities and development of and improvements to state public facilities for the benefit of the rakyat.

But alas, as I said he was more of a businessman than a politician. Thus Khalid at that time ran Selangor state like a CEO of a Guthrie-like concern.

Just a mere 4 months after the tsunamic March 2008 general elections as MB Selangor I was disgusted by Khalid's bourgeois mentality when I saw how he handled the Grand Saga road toll debacle, more so when Tony Pua (DAP) criticized his refusal or reluctance to act for those Cheras residents who voted for him (Khalid). Pua stated:

"It is critical that the new state government demonstrate political will and determination to stand for what is right and just, without fear or favour, instead of wavering in uncertainty or adopting a “we will look into it” or “we will have to discuss further” culture which is reminiscent of the previous Barisan Nasional government."

"It is of great concern that Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim had qualified his statement on the “right of use” by saying that the state government must also take into consideration that the toll is the source of revenue for the company."

Yes, Khalid Ibrahim was more concerned about revenue for the toll company than the rights of the Cheras residents.

Anyway, today he has signalled his intention to campaign for BOTH UMNO and PAS. It is his due right and something we should have expected considering he was done badly by PKR.

This is not to say I don't agree with his removal as MB in 2014 as I believe he was not a good rep for the Selangor people.

In fact, dear olde socialist me started to dislike him way before the Grand Saga toll debacle, principally because of PSM's aversion, antipathy and animosity towards him. He was unfortunately remembered by Indians with a decided lack of fondness or respect.

During the Ijok by-election in 2007, an unhappy PSM had reminded most local Indians of Khalid as an unfriendly Guthrie towkay.

He should find UMNO (his original party) as a better home for his political inclinations.

Easy-to-get deadly weapons

MM Online - Cop, soldiers shoot cows, goats for quick buck (extracts):

our men

JELEBU, Dec 2 — They are not your regular livestock thieves.

These men are trained in tactical planning and are well-equipped with more than adequate firepower.

The group of eight, some who are in the army and the police, carried out a commando-style raid rather than a livestock theft.

Police were shocked to see the cache of firearms they had.

the enemies

In the incident on Wednesday, the eight were about to flee with the carcasses of two cows and four goats in three four-wheel-drive vehicles when they were intercepted by a mob of angry villagers at 3.40am at an oil palm plantation in Kampung Ulu Lakai, Simpang Durian, here.

A police source said investigators seized a cache of specialised weapons and ammunition from the suspects, some which were registered under the National Security Council (NSC) and also the Bukit Aman federal police headquarters armoury.

“Besides the seizure of two 12-bore shotguns, investigators also seized a variety of weapons such as a Royal Malaysian Police issued Heckler & Koch MP5 A3 submachine-gun, four semi-automatic 9mm pistols, a semi-automatic shotgun and more than 100 rounds of mixed ammunition,” the source told Malay Mail yesterday.

“These weapons are usually used for operations involving close-quarter battle by police or paramilitary operatives.”

The suspects are aged between 29 and 54. Police investigations are focused on a 34-year-old policeman who is currently attached with the NSC in Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur.

Entrepreneurial but it says a lot for police security in their control of very deadly weapons.

By the evidence above, police weapons are now very easy and very 'soft' target for terrorists and criminals.

The IGP must clean his 'house' pretty pronto especially when we have inkling of latent/'hidden' terrorists amidst our community.

Would be wise also for the Armed Forces, considering that once one of its corporals seized a military armoury.

Hindraf becomes political pest?

FMT - Consider Hindraf candidates for GE14, Indian business body tells PH (extracts):

The Malaysian Indian Commerce Association (Mica) has urged Pakatan Harapan (PH) to consider Indian rights group Hindraf’s plea to have its candidates contest in the upcoming election using the logos of the coalition’s component parties.

Recently, Hindraf chairman P Waythamoorthy said it was unlikely the Registrar of Societies (RoS) would allow Hindraf to be registered as a political party.

“Therefore, we are hopeful that, with our cooperation with PH, they (components) will allow us to contest seats they had lost before,” he had said, adding that Hindraf did not want to run in the parties’ winnable seats.

Speaking to FMT, Mica president P Sivakumar said it would be wise for PH to work with an Indian organisation which was well connected on the ground with the Indian community.

“Hindraf is in a better position compared with other Indian organisations because they’ve been championing the Indian grassroots, the Indian youth and the Indian lower income groups for some time and they are quite well known.”

In my post Podah Hindraf just less than a week ago, I said that we always have Hindraf emphasising the racist angle, whether to BN or now to PH, begging to be the representative for Indian Malaysians.

Hindraf's perpetual pathetic pleading to be the political representative for Indian Malaysians has been a joke when Indians look down upon the NGO ever since Waythamoorty crossed the Rubicon in 2013 and became a BN minister but unlike Julius Caesar, has the brazen nerve to now swim back.

That was after he made a fool of himself by his grandiose grandstanding filing of a 4 trillion pound (yes, Sterling pound, wakakaka) lawsuit against the Poms (after running away to safety in UK) and even seeking to strike out Article 153 of the Malaysian Constitution.

Waythamoorthy should stop using the name of Indians when they are already represented by a host of parties, such as the DAP, to a lesser extent PKR and the PSM.

The DAP even has an Indian as Penang's Deputy Chief Minister and another as a Senator on top of its 6 Indian MPs and 14 ADUNs. Even MIC doesn't have such, the strongest Indian strength in parliamentary representatives.

Then there's the so-called Indian party MIC on the BN side which I have to grudgingly say has improved somewhat under its new party president Dr Subramaniam (Health Minister).

Are Hindraf leaders that so hard up for political positions they believe they can only achieve their dreams by using Hindraf in such a sad begging way?

We can't do much about history with regards to UMNO, MCA and MIC but from now on we should have less of ethnic-based-&-named parties like Hindraf and racist ketuanan Pribumi.

Mica president P Sivakumar tok's-kok in saying: Hindraf is in a better position compared with other Indian organisations because they’ve been championing the Indian grassroots, the Indian youth and the Indian lower income groups for some time and they are quite well known.

Yes, Hindraf is well known for becoming BN's lapdog. Podah again also for its preposterous and nonsensical 4 trillion law suit against Great Britain.

If PH wants to give away seats, it'd be better to give them away to PSM. F**k Hindraf.

Rhythm of the falling 'whatever'

One of my fave columnists FA Abdul wrote about How not to make babies out of wedlock in The Malaysian insight.

Sweetie was responding to the amazing revelation of Khairuddin Aman Razali, a PAS Member of Parliament for Kuala Nerus, ... that watching Western films contributes to the rise in babies born out of wedlock.

The Malaysian Insight reported that: He raised this issue during the Budget 2018 allocation debate to the communications and multimedia ministry in Parliament.

It would indeed have been an amazing revelation if he was not from PAS, wakakaka, a party where some members seem preoccupied with 'making babies' or rather as I suspect, the art of making babies.

One of the more vocal PAS politicians who frequently aired his (similar) views on this has been Mr Tantawi or Nasrudin Hassan, PAS Information Chief.

Mr Tantawi believes Valentine's Day and New Year's celebrations are occasions for free sex and thus for 'singles', illegitimate babies.

I wish they would remove their minds from such 'topics' and focus on, if they're the Lee Lam Thye or Michael Chong type, helping society deal with scams, lil' Napoleons and City-Halls' "obstacle courses" (wakakaka), or ...

... if they're the Gobind Deo Singh type, ameliorate naughty cases of unilateral conversion to Islam by one (Muslim) parent which gave Islam a bad name or injustice like JAWI's cruel and illegal harassment of Nik Raina (hope Mr Tantawi knows the case of the Borders store manager charged by JAWI for selling at the material time a perfectly legal/allowed book).

FA Abdul offered a practical solution to those reckless bonking 'singles' to prevent babies being born out of wedlock and (this kaytee remebers) thus to avoid the innocent babies being stuck with the stigma of a 'bin Abdullah' label, tarring & feathering them with the sign of being 'bastards'.

FA Abdul advised those people to use 'condom'. In colloquial Malay it's sometimes called 'sarong', wakakaka.

Now one thing puzzles me. I know that Catholics are not supposed to use condoms but the 'rhythm method'. What about Muslims? Is use of contraceptives permitted? If not, then I suppose they could fall back on the 'rhythm method', wakakaka.

Finally a decent humane step forward

MM Online - Parliament removes mandatory death penalty for drug offences, judges to get discretion (extracts):

An amendment to the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 was passed today to remove the mandatory death penalty for drug offences and to instead give judges full discretion in sentencing.

The amendments were passed on the last day of the current Dewan Rakyat meeting via a majority voice vote after Putrajaya altered a provision in the amendment bill that was criticised by Opposition members and the Bar Council.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman tabled an alteration to the bill to give full discretion to judges in sentencing drug convicts.

The previous version of the amendment bill said that the judge could only exercise their discretion if the Public Prosecutor issued a certificate declaring that the convict had cooperated with authorities.

A great step forward for social humanity in Malaysia.

But better still. abolish capital punishment. To those of you who are religious and devoted to the Almighty, don't you believe it's God's prerogative to decide on a human being's life?

Why ignore the reality that state capital punishment is legalised murder under some pretext of 'protection' for society?

It's more of a Biblical (or Quranic) 'an eye for an eye & a tooth for a tooth'.

It should not be for mortals to determine whether a man should live or die - that's the prerogative of the Almighty so don't usurp His Rights.

'Protection' for society can be to confine a person convicted of a heinous crime to real-term 'life imprisonment', meaning he or she will not be paroled or ever released from jail.

Still, it's a humongous leap forward from our previous draconian automatic death penalty without due proper judgement of a trained and experienced judge or judges.

I wonder whether this humane step forward could have happened if Mahathir were still the PM? Well, it didn't in his 22-years reign.

Canned sardines a stigma?

MM Online - Canned sardines and eggs’ stigma at flood relief centres overcome, says minister (extracts):

PASIR MAS, Nov 30 — The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry has overcome the stigma “of providing only canned sardines and eggs” to evacuees at the flood relief centres.

Its minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim said the ministry had appointed 59 suppliers in Kelantan to provide daily essentials including fresh produce like chicken and fish to the flood relief centres already in operation now.

“This is one of the improvements we’ve made each year in ensuring comfort for the flood evacuees while at the relief centres.

“However, canned sardines and eggs are still provided as supplementary food. This is because if the roads to the relief centres are cut off (by flood waters) and the suppliers cannot send the food supply to the centres, the evacuees will still have something to eat.”

Canned sardines and eggs a stigma to evacuees at the flood relief centres?

WTF!

I grew up on canned sardines and eggs, which were then luxurious to me. I still eat canned sardines and eggs from time to time.

Haven't the Minister gone overboard in pampering to flood evacuees?
