Cops confirm report filed
on pythons released into
Putra Heights drain
Subang Jaya police chief Wan Azlan Wan Mamat says the case has been referred to the wildlife and parks department for further action.
Subang Jaya police chief Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the report was filed by a man at the Putra Heights police station at 10.15am on Feb 3, Sinar Harian reported.
He said the complainant made a report based on a video that showed three men releasing three pythons into the large drain.
“The report was filed by the complainant out of concern for their own safety and that of their family,” Wan Azlan said in a statement.
He said investigations by the Putra Heights police found that the snakes were released into the drains mid-January.
Wan Azlan added that the case has been referred to the wildlife and parks department (Perhilitan) for further action.
A video of the incident that had gone viral showed the men, wearing red long-sleeved t-shirts and dark pants, carrying the pythons in bags and releasing the snakes into the drain.
