Name your PM candidate,
PKR man challenges PN
Chua Wei Kiat questions the claim by a PAS MP that the opposition pact has ‘many qualified candidates’.

PKR deputy information chief Chua Wei Kiat said PN had yet to decide on its candidate for the top post, adding that its components were divided over the issue.
“(Bachok MP) Syahir Sulaiman can continue criticising the unity government and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, but I have one simple question: who is PN’s prime minister candidate?
“If PN itself cannot reach a consensus on who from among its leaders deserves to be prime minister, the people cannot compare that candidate with Anwar.
“How then can the people trust that PN is capable of governing the country well?” he said in a statement.
In November, PAS spiritual adviser Hashim Jasin denied that PN chairman Muhyiddin Yassin was the coalition’s prime minister candidate for GE16. He said PN had yet to decide on the matter.
Hashim also said that the Islamic party was more deserving of leading PN since it had more MPs and a stronger grassroots network nationwide.
However, Gerakan and Bersatu leaders threw their support behind Muhyiddin, saying the former prime minister remained PN’s sole candidate for the prime minister’s position in GE16.
