ReplyDeleteThe TikTok ban is not a National Security issue. It's a control and profit for insiders issue. Same as it ever was.
Congressman Thomas Massie nailed it last March in this speech pointing out why the ban is a cure worse than the disease.
Who benefited from the ban? Where is TikTok's new data center? Was it a coincidence that Mark Zuckerberg recently visited Mar-A-Lago and his interview with Joe Rogan? Will we be surprised by revelations of AIPAC influence? I won't.
The pieces on the chessboard were feverishly moved, drama stoked, the savior emerges, another "win". So what really just happened? I believe we just witnessed another masterful psy-op, and it's not clear who's wearing the white hat.

Argue all you want. In the end it's all down to the people who use the app and how they choose to use it. If indeed it did help further the Palestinian cause – thanks to the users, many of whom weren't even Arab or Muslims – then partial justice has been served for the oppressed. No amount of algorithm hypothesis hooey will change or reverse that.
