Failed kidnapping at Bandar Saujana Putra raises concern on public safety

WITH the bad economic condition and the lack of good jobs, people may resort to doing the darndest things. Or is it just nature for some people to be bad?

Regardless, a lady learned things the hard way that it was best not to walk the streets during the wee hours of the morning.

A recent video post on X captures the failed yet hair-raising attempt at kidnapping which showed just how dangerous things can get.

Percubaan menculik gagal. Hati-hati terutama perempuan kalau keluar malam sorang-sorang 😥

The video claimed that the tragedy occurred at Bandar Saujana Putra at 4:37am, as provided by the CCTV camera.

Prompted by the kidnapping, netizens expressed their concern towards the safety of the country moving forward.

SukaButter further advised that people who walk alone refrain from looking at their phone or having their ears stuffed with earpods to maintain situational awareness.

Another netizen suggested that each premises on ground level should have a CCTV installed as it will be very helpful.

Netizen Danial Ikram further claimed that the perpetrator was either a Bangladeshi or Rohingya.

Then there was netizen akaksenget who raised a pertinent point for discussion.

Without chloroform, and operating alone, what are the chances of him successfully executing the kidnapping?

Anyone could point out that a mere plastic bag is definitely not sufficient to restrain or incapacitate a human being, much less an adult.

Or perhaps the man was suffering from some mental illness. Regardless, the CCTV camera showed a fleeting view of his face, although the quality was poor at best.

Hopefully the authorities could make do with the modicum of information and pick him up soon enough before he learns from his mistakes and executes a successful kidnapping instead.—Jan 26, 2025
