Mahathir has taken issue with the RM130 million allocated to the Indian community by the Madani government

Former prime minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad has taken issue with the RM130 million allocated to the Indian community by the Madani government, by criticising the allocation as a sign that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is favouring a specific ethnic group, despite Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's commitment to non-racial policies.


In a 22 point blog post, Mahathir appeared to be using the allocation to accuse Anwar of everything from his supposed stance against the New Economic Policy to his purported non-racial credentials to downright calling Anwar a liar.


The content of his blogpost, originally written in Malay and titled “Tipu” or “Lies”, is translated as below.


1. PMX said there should be no racial profiling.


2. But the allocation of RM130 million was given to Indians.


3. Why Indians if the race profiling is not practised.


4. Shouldn’t the allocation be given to all races equally.


5. If it is not available to the Indians, it does not matter.


6. If most go to non-Indians that's fine.


7. Because there is no racial difference, if it is available to other races by chance it will also be available to the Indians.


8. PMX said since ABIM he was talking about the New Economic Policy (DEB).


9. Show evidence.


10. When PMX joined UMNO there was no effort by him to reject DEB.


11. As a member and leader of UMNO at that time PMX accepted DEB.


12. If you reject DEB, leave UMNO and join DAP.


13. Not at all.


14. Without racism UMNO PMX will not get a place.

15. Without UMNO today, Anwar would not be PMX.


16. This gesture should be interpreted as a form of cheating the people to get a place.

Recently, Anwar had accused Mahathir of betraying the country, based on the finding of the Batu Puteh RCI. By the looks of it, rather than sue for peace, Mahathir is going to come out with guns blazing to address the accusation.
