Rafizi: PN backers should ask why Muhyiddin tried to 'steal' MPs
Perikatan Nasional (PN) supporters should question the wisdom of their leader, Muhyiddin Yassin in attempting to "steal" 10 MPs from BN to form a government, said PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli.
In a video on his Tiktok account last night, Rafizi said such a move would render the "anti-hopping" laws meaningless and would lead to a repeat of the Sheraton Move.
"Isn't Muhyiddin worried about the 10 MPs withdrawing their support (eventually)? Is he not worried about having a shorter term than the 18 months (he once had)?
"If he tried the 'Sheraton Move' again and succeeded to form a government, perhaps he could have lasted only a few months," said Rafizi.
Rafizi was referring to Muhyiddin's initial claim that he had secured statutory declarations (SD) from 115 MPs who supported him as prime minister.

This led to a widespread belief that some BN MPs broke ranks with the coalition leadership and supported Muhyiddin.
Eventually, BN decided all 30 of its MPs must abide by its central leadership's decision to heed the Yang di-Pertuan Agong's decree to form a unity government.
Respecting the Agong
Rafizi's Tiktok video yesterday primarily recounted his version of events following the conclusion of the Nov 19 elections and the crucial four days that followed - culminating in the appointment of Anwar Ibrahim as the prime minister.
Anwar's appointment was not a straightforward process as new alliances had to be established because no single coalition had a simple majority to form the federal government.
According to Rafizi, the Agong had proposed a unity government to break the deadlock and proposed it to the main coalitions.
All but PN agreed to the proposal, said Rafizi.
Rafizi, who said he was a key negotiator in the formation of the new government, said Muhyiddin and Hadi had written on the draft proposal from the palace that they disagreed with the idea.

Be critical
Meanwhile, Rafizi urged opposition MPs to provide constructive criticism of the new government, just as he was before.
"If there are wrongdoings on our part, expose it like what I have done before.
"If possible, break my record for being put (in the) police lock up and that I was sued 16 times. It will be good if you can break my record.
"Debate (government policy) with wisdom and new ideas," he said.
Rafizi is the Pandan MP and Economic Affairs Minister.
