KJ moves to Sungai Buloh Umno, aims for next election

Khairy Jamaluddin said he will remain in the Sungai Buloh division until BN wrests back the seat.

PETALING JAYA: Rembau Umno deputy chief Khairy Jamaluddin has officially moved to the party’s Sungai Buloh division, saying he wants to ensure Barisan Nasional (BN) wins the seat in the next general election.

“I did not come (to Sungai Buloh) to contest and then disappear when I lose. I will remain in this division until we win the parliamentary seat,” he said in a TikTok video.

Khairy, a former three-term Rembau MP since 2008, moved to contest in Sungai Buloh at the 15th general election (GE15) but lost to Pakatan Harapan’s K Ramanan in a seven-cornered contest.

The former health minister also said the decision to move to Sungai Buloh was made after discussing it with the division’s leadership.

Acknowledging that he was a “high-profile parachute candidate” who was sent to wrest the seat from PH, Khairy said he would discuss with division members on preparations for the Umno elections which must be held within six months after GE15.

  1. He may well have a much better chance next time.
It depends on the Harapan MP performance, and also the overall delivery of the Anwar Government.
K Ramana is a colourless MIC jumper (not a frog because he was not an MP).
He really needs to get moving serving his constituency .

If the government falls prematurely die to another engineered collapse, then Khairy has a great chance indeed.
