Penang CM wants state polls held with GE15
Penang chief minister Chow Kon Yeow said there were calls from Penangites for the state polls to be held concurrently with the
general election.
GEORGE TOWN: Penang chief minister Chow Kon Yeow prefers having the state’s election run concurrently with the 15th general election (GE15).
Chow said holding the elections simultaneously would ease logistic arrangements, adding that there were calls from Penangites for the state polls to be held concurrently with GE15.
He also said Penang DAP had provided its “best argument” on the matter to the party’s top leadership when they met on Tuesday.
“We’ve managed to convince DAP’s top leaders to bring this issue to the Pakatan Harapan leadership meeting that took place yesterday that I attended (as well),” he told reporters at the sidelines of an event here.
“We will wait for the official announcement (on the decision of the poll) tomorrow.”
