Star Online:
What ban? Penangites crowd market, causing traffic congestion
Penangites came out in droves to shop at the Ayer Itam market on Thursday (March 19) in spite of the ongoing movement control order (MCO).
As early as 8am, the traffic at the Ayer Itam area was already congested.
The market was bustling with those looking to get their supplies to cook and those who wanted takeaways.
The crowd grew as Penangites enjoyed their morning out despite orders not to congregate in numbers.

The Penang Island City Council (MBPP) released a video on social media showing enforcement officers and personnel using loudspeakers to urge people stay at home and only go out if necessary, such as to seek medical care, get food supplies or if their job required it.
The enforcement officers could be heard saying this was a necessary precautionary measure to ensure containing the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak and that the rules would apply until March 31.

my wife keep whatsapp me on the 16th to sapu i dun know what since all her colleagues and friends is at the supermarket, my mum keep req me to fetch her to the wet market non stop. i said no to both. its human nature i guess? but i am curious y they never worry abt the virus, like those who attend the tabligh?
ReplyDeleteI hope you do have some buffer food stocks at home, because, even though supermarkets and wet markets are open, supplies of many items are scarce and many empty shelves.
DeleteOld people, especially are vulnerable to this virus, and should not be out on the streets.
Thanks to plentiful, tasty and affordable street food, many Penangites simply do not eat simple breakfast at home like bread or cereals.
ReplyDeleteAlso , there is still a strong preference to buy meat, fish and veges fresh daily or almost every day, especially for those who live not far from the market.
So many people, especially middle-aged and set in their ways, still go out to buy breakfast and market in the morning....
Yes one Penang-ite in particular we should especially be ashamed of.
ReplyDeleteWhen Tabung Harapan was formed, as quick as a flash this Penangite blogged (on June 2, 2018):
QUOTE
I wonder whether Guan Eng would like to donate his RM1 million which was collected when he was charged with corruption in a bungalow purchase in Penang's Pinhorn Road.
It was the generous caring public who donated the RM1 million for him to use as standby bail money. Since it's unlikely he will face corruption charges, more so when his dad is constantly hounding the AG into resigning (just for good measure, wakakaka), I believe he can afford to donate that RM1 million.
UNQUOTE
But since the Tabung COV-19 was formed by the PN government this Penang-ite has not made a poop or peep about FABULOUSLY RICH UMNO politicians now found to have untold wealth...Jibby with cash, jewelry and handbags, surely he can donate some of that, Ku Nan nearly 1 billion can afford to donate 2 million pocket money....Zahid Hamidi with tens of millions in his Tak Masuk Akal Foundation can surely issue a check for a few million....
But this Penang-ite now is shamefully silent, only proving he has hatred for Guanee, Toonsie, LKS, who by the way are the PAST, no more in government. "Focus on the NOW" this Penang-ite always used to say, but why so silent about the fabulously (and suspiciously) rich Jibbys, Zahids and Ku Nans....they are now in government. I would like to see their asset declaration in 1 months time....ha ha ha....
why bother when I know no one will donate to the Muhyiddin govt's Covid BS - podah
DeleteHehehe brutal
DeleteAlways the mouth...so quickly the comeback, hehe...why bother ? you can always through, your very powerful blog, get the momentum going...surely you know that unofficially, there are at least 200 Malay billionaires and a sprinkling good few MCA-ed multi millionaires, not to mention those from our good brothers from the East side. Just a 5% from all these filthy bunch who had been accruing for the past 50 plus years would take care of not only the covid19 fund but to settle the country's 1 trillion debt too. So roll up your sleeves la...start your good work for once, surely you can stop your batu api work momentarily, it won't dent your dedak income one bit I'm sure. Go on, Ktemoc...Allah will surely bless you.
