PKR will lodge reports with the police and Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) against a social media post that alleged billions worth of royalty funds meant for Kelantan and Terengganu were channelled into the party's accounts.
Its information chief Fahmi Fadzi said the party disclosed its audited financial accounts at every PKR congress.
"An individual uploaded a fake and disgusting post. PKR discloses its accounts at every congress, and the accounts are audited by certified auditors.
"There was no amount as alleged that has gone into PKR's accounts. I have instructed for police and MCMC reports to be lodged against the individual spreading this malicious slander," Fahmi, who is also communications minister, said on Facebook today.
He was referring to a post put up by an individual on a Facebook group called "Jabatan Netizen Negara", which went: "No wonder Kelantan and Terengganu did not receive royalties. It seems that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim took the royalty money and deposited it into PKR party accounts. Billions of ringgit."
Early this week, the Finance Ministry revealed that nearly RM1 billion in wang ihsan (goodwill money) was channelled to PAS-led Kelantan and Terengganu governments last year.
This comprises RM786 million for Terengganu and RM200 million for Kelantan for petroleum extracted off the coasts of the two states.
