Najib lodges report alleging IRB collusion with politicians

KUALA LUMPUR – Datuk Seri Najib Razak has lodged a police report against the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) for allegedly colluding with certain politicians to falsify documents and commit power abuse in relation to his tax case.

In a Facebook post, the former prime minister said he has “strong evidence” that senior IRB officials and the said politicians “clearly” violated various sections of the Penal Code and Section 23 of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009.

He shared a photo of the report, which showed that it was lodged at the Sentul police station this afternoon.

“In relation to this, I invite all quarters, especially tax auditors, to inspect my income tax files that I have brought before the courts.

“I will also write a letter to IRB authorising my income tax files over the years to be revealed to any interested party, so that they can see for themselves the additional taxes imposed on me, which does not make sense and is unlawful.

“I believe police will investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure justice.”

This come after the Kuala Lumpur High Court ordered Najib to pay an additional RM1.69 billion in income tax to the government in July.

The Pekan MP said he recently received information on the matter, and that some officers have met him to apologise over the case, which had purportedly been investigated thrice since 2018.

“However, after three investigations that clearly showed I did not breach the law, there were high-level IRB officials who ordered (their staff) to proceed with penalising me with more taxes after being instructed by certain politicians.

“This is clearly worrying, as the instruction was given by politicians and not based on the facts of the investigations, and did not have a legal basis. This has wasted the time of many quarters, including me, and is truly an abuse of power.” – The Vibes, September 8, 2021

  1. Why all this Drama AFTER the court case is over, LHDN oso won the Summary Judgement etc. Jibby must be desperate. So have to Scratch and Scrape anything.

If he had "strong evidence" why leave it till AFTER the court case?

And opening his income tax files for public scrutiny is never a good idea for a politician, unless you are squeaky clean. Even Trump resisted it...ha ha ha...It will only confirm Jibby did not declare the RM144 million cash that was found in his possession, money that he claims belongs to UMNO. Problem is UMNO didn't declare it either, to ROS, in their annual financial reports.

    So How...?

  2. For a Guy that imposed the Best and Most Efficient Taxation system for which There is No Escape from Paying (GST) it is Shameful that he is now using all kinds of excuses for not declaring billions found in his personal bank account. Not My Money lah, Saudi Agong Donation lah, Conspiracy lah, I Kena TIPU-ed by Fatso lah etc.

  3. The additional taxes were related to income that Najib had never previously declared, and had kept a secret.
So his past tax records over the years is not relevant to prove his innocence.
The fact is Billions of Ringgit flowed through his personal bank accounts.
You or me would be hauled up for tax evasion if we did not declare those amounts.
Najib cannot claim to be subject to different laws.

  4. some officers have met him to apologise, kt highlighted, kt must have believed his bullcrap like his gullible guppies wakakaka, I wonder if there is any chance of jibby naming the officers wakakaka

jibby wants people to look at his declared tax returns, of course it will be in order, what the tax people are interested in are the undeclared income, that I believe does not need any intervention or influence from anyone, sop tu
