Negeri Sembilan's four territorial chieftains, in a decision today, “suspended” the service of Raja Norazli Raja Nordin as the secretary of the state's Council of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar and the Ruling Chiefs (Dewan Keadilan dan Undang).
This followed the officer's failure to abide by their earlier instruction to call for a special sitting today to discuss the worsening royal dispute in Negeri Sembilan.
In a statement, the four Undang Luak, together with the tunku besar of Tampin and Sungai Ujong’s datuk syahbandar, also expressed their dismay at Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun and the state government for allegedly failing to act neutrally in handling the dispute.
"We are very angry and disappointed over Raja Norazli's failure to abide by our order and decree as the co-rulers of Negeri Sembilan and the majority members of the council, in relation to managing the convening of the special sitting today.
"Whereas Raja Norazli’s actions were reckless, contrary to customary protocols, and highly disrespectful. He is no longer fit to hold the position of secretary of the Dewan Keadilan dan Undang Negeri Sembilan," the leaders said.
They stressed that the council belongs to all its permanent members as per the Negeri Sembilan state constitution, and is not only answerable to the state's Yang di-Pertuan Besar.
The chieftains also reasserted their earlier decision sacking Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir as state ruler.
"No one holds a veto power in the council. Thus, any letter that is issued on the council's name and signed by Raja Norazli after April 17, 2026 without the mandate from its members is tantamount to abuse of the institution and his position."

The Negeri Sembilan chieftains
Last week, the chieftains and customary leaders issued a letter instructing the council secretary to convene a special sitting with all of its members, seeking to put an end to the state's ugly royal dispute.
However, Raja Norazli reportedly said he could not convene the meeting as the royal crisis is currently a matter of the court.
Lack of neutrality worsens dispute
In their letter, the Undang Luak blamed Aminuddin, the Negeri Sembilan state secretary, and its legal adviser for the prolonged royal dispute.
According to the chieftains, the state administration's failure to act neutrally in handling the crisis had caused it to worsen.
They reminded the state administrators that the state constitution also confers them, in their capacity as state co-rulers, the same level of power as Negeri Sembilan Yang di-Pertuan Besar.

"Thus, we decree that the Negeri Sembilan government shall remain neutral and refrain from being 'lebih sudu dari kuah' (acting beyond their power) or to act 'seperti kerbau dicucuk hidung' (someone without a stand).
"Instead, they shall take the appropriate and necessary steps to allow us to exercise our customary powers and duties as provided for, in order to resolve this crisis and confusion," the leaders said.
In their statement, the chieftains and customary leaders set this June 5 as a new date for the special sitting, to be held in Tampin.
They are also inviting the chief secretary to the government, the attorney-general, and the inspector-general of police to attend the sitting as independent observers.
