14 MP Umno to rebel against Anwar: Netizens ask if they are heroes or betrayers






EDISI Siasat posted a note saying that 14 UMNO Member of Parliament (MP) will come forward to save the party as they see the current leadership is unable to do so.


The cryptic message only says the following: “14 UMNO Member of Parliament (MP) have agreed so far. They have come forward without any coercion or rewards because they see that Anwar and Zahid are destroying UMNO.


“These 14 MPs will be remembered as the individuals who saved UMNO. God willing,” the message continued.


While the message does not say what the MPshave agreed upon, it hinted that they believe Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi are “destroying UMNO”.

Netizens indeed responded to the post with some saying the opposition can wait and see if that happens, or if they are the ones who are betraying the party.

One user asked what show is this all about? The user also asked why only 14 MPs since all the UMNO members can leave the current government and nothing will happen.

“We have PKR+DAP+Amanah+Sabah and Sarawak…the numbers are enough or sudah cukup jumlah.”



Another user said the MPs are free to leave since there are now no room for any government bloc MP to amass RM427.5 mil in 17 months or RM177 mil in 16 months if they remain in the Madani Government.



The post is referring to the cases against the former Prime Ministers.



Nevertheless, some users welcome the move, possibly because they support a change in government, while others jokingly point out that PN will have to wait another three years for the next election. —Mar 9, 2025
