HOUSTON, Sept 8 — The US today confirmed it disrupted in April a multimillion-dollar shipment of crude oil by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, seizing more than 980,000 barrels of contraband crude oil that violated US sanctions.
In a sanctions enforcement operation, the US confiscated cargo onboard the Suez Rajan, a Marshall Islands tanker, which was carrying Iranian oil at sea. The vessel was unloaded last month after waiting 2-1/2 months off the coast of Texas to discharge.
The “illicit sale and transport of Iranian oil” violated sanctions targeting Iran, the US Department of Justice (DOJ) said in a statement that for the first time acknowledged its role.

Iran seized an oil tanker chartered by a US company about two months ago in the Persian Gulf.
ReplyDelete.
At the time pro-Iranian bloggers (wakakaka) were celebrating the seizure.
.So it's fair reciprocity
This particular shipment was intended to be unloaded in USA, therefore SUBJECT TO AMERICAN LAW.
No UN sanctions necessary
Such a mfering act of Yankee consistency - I can do what I wanted to, but u can't never do what I did!
ReplyDeleteThe US military forces in Syria has been regularly smuggling cruel oil seized from occupied oil fields by the truckloads.
