Waytha's 10,000 "temples" destroyed

Penang Deputy Chief Minister II P Ramasamy said a comprehensive study of Indian temples must differentiate between temples and shrines, which at present are categorised as the same.

What I have been saying all along.

And which Waythamoorthy numbered those destroyed by authorities conveniently as 10,000.

Imagine in Penang the destruction of:

  • 10,000 Kuanyin Temple in Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling (Pitt Street),
  • 10,000 Mesjid Kapitan Keling (same street) and
  • 10,000 Arulmigu Sri Ganesha Temple in Jalan Kebun Bunga.

now, the above three are really 'temples' (in generic terms) and not shrines (see below)

  2. Are Suraus and Madrasahs also considered and counted like shrines in all those Statistics often quoted by the Govt. and religious bodies? So, why include it for other religions?

What about shrines by the roadsides, every building and housing development, graveyards, farms and in the jungles?

Isn't such manipulations of statistics by politicians disgusting and abhorrent?

I don't see all of them whether shrines, suraus, madrasahs or not a danger to Malaysians at all. The dangerous ones are those politicians playing around with their definitions of places of religious worship and religious bigots trying to play politics with other people's religion when it is not their own, all in the name of playing God/Gods.

    1. Often time the issue of illegal temples and shrines come up & the zombies/ketuanan freaks r shouting foamingly in the mouth, rallying for their prohibition.

They conveniently ignore the fact that many of their suraus and madrasahs were ALSO built on public land. They were NEVER converted to any private ownership! All of them r still public owned, built & funded by M'sian (mainly the None) money. Sometime, in one small location, one can find multiple suraus and madrasahs enticing their individual zombies with prejudicial firing sermons.

WHY ain't these bunch of morons raise the same prohibition issue vis-a-vis these multiple suraus and madrasahs?

R they happy that these r the radicalization camps for their lost souls.

The FedCon clause that states Islam(not zombiecism) is the religion of the state.

These moron CAN'T & DON'T want to accept the correct distinction of state religion (none in FedCon) & religion of the state (so r Christianity, Buddhism & others).

  3. Waytha's statement was hyperbole made in front of a foreign audience 10 years ago, but I will forgive him considering the dire situation up to 2008.

The then BN government hands-off policy , especially in Selangor, gave carte blanche to developers to treat pre-existing temples on land they purchased as illegal structures.

Temples , standing for decades, in some cases over a century , were gratuitously destroyed without any alternative solutions offered.
The then government not only had a Hands-off policy, many enforcement agency personnel -100 % of a certain religion - truly enjoyed their Holy Duty to cleanse the land of Infidel temples and shrines.

The situation at the time amounted to temple cleansing.

    1. Fanatic religiosity is the scourge of humanity. It could turn a race known for its gentleness and amiability to one which is intolerant and so thoroughly blinkered. Is there any hope left except for the kafirs to leave sooner or later ?

  4. https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2018/12/01/bold-templewithinamall-move-pays-of-for-mid-valley/

The MidValley developer's willingness, 20 years ago, to accommodate the existing temple and in fact renovate it could be a constructive model.

Similarly, Penang's Gurney Plaza accomodated an existing temple on its grounds.

There is a scary story about what happened to the Government contractors to cut down one of the ancient Boddhi trees at the MidValley temple.
One died in a terrible accident, the other went bankrupt and ended up hawking roadside goods to survive.
Don't play-play, Bad Karma to demolish temples willy-nilly.
