Israeli forces arrest Fatah members in occupied West Bank raids
The Israeli military has stormed a home in the occupied West Bank town of Kafr ad-Dik, west of Salfit, and arrested two men, the official Palestinian news agency Wafa reports.
The detained men were identified as Jamal Hammad, a member of the Revolutionary Council of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah), and Ahmad Abdul Karim al-Deek, Fatah’s deputy secretary in Salfit.
Israeli forces also continue to detain Abdel Sattar Awad, Fatah’s secretary in Salfit, who was arrested in a raid on September 4.
Fatah is the largest faction of the multiparty Palestine Liberation Organization, the internationally recognised representative of the Palestinian people in the occupied Palestinian territory.

He has accused Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu of leading the Middle East into chaos and has pledged a strong response to the Israeli military aggression.
Israel has attacked six countries in the past 72 hours
On Tuesday, Israel launched an air strike on Hamas leaders in a residential compound located in Qatar’s capital, Doha, during a meeting of the group to discuss a US-proposed ceasefire for Gaza.
The strike killed six people, including the son of senior Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya, the director of al-Hayya’s office, as well as three bodyguards and a Qatari security officer.
The attack was part of a wider wave of Israeli strikes extending beyond its borders and marked the sixth country attacked by Israel’s military in just 72 hours and the seventh country since the start of this year.

The UN General Assembly adopted an Arab-drafted resolution today calling for a “humanitarian truce” in Gaza, after rejecting a Canadian amendment that would have condemned the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks by Hamas and demanded immediate release of hostages taken by Hamas.
Israel’s U.N. Ambassador Gilad Erdan called it “a day that will go down in infamy.”
The resolution was adopted by a vote of 120 to 14 with 45 abstentions.
Outrageously, the resolution failed to condemn Hamas for its October 7th massacre of 1400 Israelis, or for its abduction of more than 200 Israelis including children and babies, or even to mention the word Hamas.
The resolution also failed to recognize Israel’s right to defend itself and its citizens against terrorism.
The resolution calls for “immediate, full, sustained, safe and unhindered humanitarian access…to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid” but, as noted by the Czech Republic, doesn’t provide assurances that this will not be abused by Hamas and other terrorists.
The text also calls on Israel, “the occupying power,” to rescind its order to evacuate northern Gaza.
Prior to taking action on the resolution, an amendment led by Canada did not pass, as it failed to reach the required two-thirds majority. That amendment would have “unequivocally reject[ed] and condemn[ed] the terrorist attacks by Hamas that took place in Israel starting on 7 October 2023 and the taking of hostages.”
Czech Defense Minister Calls to Leave UN Over Refusal to Condemn Hamas
In response Czech Defense Minister Jana Černochová called to leave the UN for cheering Hamas terrorists, tweeting as follows: “Exactly three weeks ago, Hamas murdered over 1400 Israelis, more victims for their population than the militant Islamist organization al-Qaeda murdered in the US on 9/11. And only 14 countries, including ours, have spoken out clearly and understandably against this unprecedented terrorist attack perpetrated by Hamas terrorists! I am ashamed of the UN. In my opinion, the Czech Republic has no place in an organization that cheers on terrorists and does not respect the fundamental right to self-defence. Let’s get out.”
