Siti Kasim chides PKR Youth for copying Akmal, “not wanting to be left out of being defender of Islam”
HUMAN rights activist and lawyer Siti Kasim has expressed shock at a social media posting on the “ham & cheese sandwich” controversy by PKR Youth a.k.a. Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) which apparently echoed the emotional sentiment expressed by UMNO Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh and PAS.
She ticked off a call by the supposedly multi-racial PKR Youth after its supreme council member Marina Ghani urged the authorities to freeze KK Super Mart’s operating license as nothing more than wanting “to show off or don’t wish to be left out from being one of the defenders of Islam alongside Akmal and PAS”.
““I’ve long sounded the type of brain or leaders the PKR Youth has … the wing tends to admit only yes-man,” she fumed in a recent YouTube.
“Sadly, Marina has to be the face of the poster but PKR Youth has to understand that KK Super Mart isn’t a by-the-road side sundry shop business while the fault lies with the (sandwich) supplier.
Aside from Marina, Siti Kasim also took UMNO Ulama Council deputy chairman Datuk Dr Khairuddin Aman Razali to task for having reprimanded Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming for defending KK Mart over the sale of pre-packed chicken ham and cheese sandwiches with abused the halal logo.
Although the former Kuala Nerus MP did not mention the DAP vice-chairman’s name but only made a reference to “Cabinet ministers” in his media statement, it was obvious that he was pointing to Nga who had described in a X post that “to make an issue out of it (controversy) simply shows who is the real idiot”.
“Ironically, the defender of Islam gang or ultra-Malay politicians have been voiceless on corruption (matters). Where is Marina or Khairuddin’s voice in condemning Hejira Travel (which scammed Malay Muslims who wish to embark on their umrah) or cases of Malays youths who sodomise fellow Malays?
“There’s thus far no condemnation which gave the impression that KK Mart is a convenient target because it’s a non-Malay/Muslim entity.”
In Siti Kasim’s contention, the entire issue has been grossly politicised to make a mountain out of a molehill “as there was no JAKIM (Department of Islamic Development Malaysia) nor halal certification during the time of Prophet Muhammad yet Islam still exists for thousands of years (1,400 years to be precise)”.
“Malays today have wised up to see through your manipulation of the race and religion or non-issues. So don’t think that we’re stupid … You guys are shameless people who only embarrass the Malays.
“Just fulfil your obligation as a politician if you’re interested to be one … Think about the progress of the country … how to improve our education, economy and infrastructure or development in the country.” – Jan 20, 2025

Ham & cheese.
Ham means a process to make food and we have Turkey ham & chicken ham which is perfect for consumption.
Same goes to Root-Beer which is made from sasafras root which is non alcoholic & good to drink.
To make an issue out of it simply shows who is the real idiot.
