‘Unbowed, unbent, unbroken’, KJ says after sacking

Umno sacked Khairy Jamaluddin last night for breaching party discipline during the 15th general election.

PETALING JAYA: Khairy Jamaluddin, who was dismissed from Umno last night, took the sacking in stride.

In an immediate but brief response, the former Rembau MP said he had been sacked by a party he loved and one that he was loyal to.

“Unbowed, unbent, unbroken,” he tweeted.

Khairy and former Selangor Umno chief Noh Omar had their memberships terminated for breaching party discipline during the 15th general election.

However, Umno secretary-general Ahmad Maslan did not go into detail on the violations.

Khairy and Noh had previously called on Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to resign as party president following the disastrous outing by Umno and Barisan Nasional in GE15.

BN only managed 30 seats, with Umno securing 26.

Khairy’s sacking comes two days after he turned down an offer to join Perikatan Nasional (PN), stressing that he would “remain loyal as an ordinary Umno member”.

The former Umno Youth chief’s statement was in response to PAS vice-president Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar saying that PN and PAS were ready to accept Khairy should he lose his Umno membership.

  1. KJ should know very well, after making the very serious allegations about "Outsiders" being brought in to stack the UMNO General Assembly, if he couldn't substantiate it, he would be in Big trouble.
Of course, there is the element of those who are deliberately out to penalise him , but he can hardly complain that his punishment is baseless.
