KUALA LUMPUR – Former Umno stalwart Tan Sri Annuar Musa has publicly consoled those who were recently sacked and suspended from the party, urging them to continue their struggle and stand principled despite being without a party.

In a Facebook post, the former Ketereh MP called on those who were sacked, including former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin and former Selangor Umno liaison chief Tan Sri Noh Omar, to remain calm and composed.

“Firing those who do not share the same opinion is the easiest way for one to remain in power.

“Trust me, speaking the truth is always expensive. Remember, even if they remain in power, there is always one who is even more powerful,” he said.

Annuar said the aim of the sackings and suspensions was clear.

“A party is always man-made. It is merely a tool for a struggle and not a goal. If the leadership is good, then the struggle is good and righteous.

“However, if the party leadership goes astray, the basis and objectives of the party will surely miss its struggle.

“When that happens, one doesn’t need to be upset if they are no longer in the party as there is surely wisdom behind it,” he said.

Despite the sackings and suspensions, Annuar said, there is much to do ahead of them as long as they remain principled, dared to speak the truth, and always fight for the right foundations and goals of their struggle for Islam, race and country.

“The rakyat have given their signal. Unfortunately, they continue to be ‘in denial’. They prefer to blame the rakyat and voters along with everybody else except themselves.

“The ‘cleaning’ that they have done will only result in more ‘dirt’ being produced because the actual ‘dirt’ continues to hang on to the party,” he said.

Criticising Umno leadership further, Annuar said the group continues to monopolise power within the party based on false narratives fabricated by them.

“Even though the party continues to crumble due to their work. They created lies and finally they believe in their own lies.

“Anyone who speaks the truth will be labelled as traitors. They only want those who will chant their false narratives.

“So let us leave them to their ‘own world’. The rakyat have already abandoned them, and it is about time that members will also leave them in droves,” he added.

Khairy was given the boot from Umno as part of an internal purge, ending weeks of speculation about his fate.

Another high-profile member, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, who once served as the party’s vice-president, has been given a six-year suspension.

Six-year suspensions were also handed out to several other bigwigs, including former Umno information chief Shahril Sufian Hamdan, former Jempol MP Datuk Seri Mohd Salim Mohd Sharif, former Umno Youth exco member Datuk Fathul Bari Mat Jaya, and Tebrau division chief Datuk Maulizan Bujang, according to a source.

These actions taken by the party, announced by president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi during an Umno Supreme Council meeting, were based on recommendations made by the disciplinary board.

Earlier, Noh said he was to be suspended, but had asked to be sacked from Umno with immediate effect, and the president had agreed. – The Vibes, January 28, 2023

Naturally Annuar tok-kok from his side of the story. Like Hiss he was very pro PN and virtually short of being overtly anti UMNO. He shouldn't be surprised the President tindak against him - why should Zahid rear a viper (or cobra) in his breast

KJ though 'neutral' (self interest dulu, wakakaka) in the PN vs UMNO tussle for bodies, was 'badmouthing' indirectly Zahid even during the pre GE15 campaign, trying to show he was of a different calibre to Zahid.

When the party proposed there should be no contest for the top 2 post, he kept quiet but suddenly when two less significant members subsequently protested, he supported them - I don't like leaders like that (think USA), sending others to kamikaze for their interests.
