Loh Siew Hong asks why he was informed as court had awarded her full custody

KANGAR – Loh Siew Hong has an uphill battle ahead in her quest to regain full custody of her three children as she heads to Perlis, only to be informed that her ex-husband is somehow involved in the matter.

“Who informed my ex-husband of this? Why must he be informed? He is not a party to this matter as I have divorced him and the Kuala Lumpur High Court has granted me sole custody.

“My children must be handed over to me and nothing less. I don’t care about their religious status. What I want now is for them to live with me until they are of age to decide otherwise,” she said, weeping, while addressing the media outside the Kangar police headquarters today.

Her ex-husband showed up when the three children were put under the care of the Social Welfare Department (SWD) in Jitra, Kedah.

She alleged that her children are being influenced by a third party and currently under mental stress.

Loh, 35, is in Kangar with SWD officers to lodge a report to gain interim custody pending the outcome of her habeas corpus filed at the Kuala Lumpur High Court yesterday.

She was also accompanied by Bagan Dalam assemblyman M. Satees and Seberang Prai City Councillor David Marshel during her trip today.

Meanwhile, her counsel Shamsher Singh Thind said the Kuala Lumpur High Court has set February 21 to hear the habeas corpus application.

Loh today also agreed with a one-month interim custody overseen by the SWD.

“Loh, in accordance with the court order, can drag the children to her home, but she doesn’t want to because she doesn’t want her children to undergo more trauma,” said Satees.

Marshall said it is surprising for her ex-husband to show up today as he does not have custody.

“I hope this case will come to an end when the Kuala Lumpur High Court hears her case on February 21.”

Even though the initial court order granted her custody last March, Loh has been separated from her 14-year-old twin daughters and a 10-year-old son. She claimed she was separated from her children in 2019, when her husband assaulted her and she was admitted to hospital with a fractured left leg.

She said he was serving a prison sentence in Kelantan for drug-related offences and alleged that he and the children have been converted to Islam.

She also lodged a police report at the Seberang Prai Utara district police headquarters in Bertam on Sunday, alleging she was given the runaround by police when seeking for them to enforce the court order. – The Vibes, February 14, 2022

Strong probability the "budak berIslam kita" doctrine was working for a jailed ex-husband (supposedly in jail in K'tan but somehow was out of jail to be in Kedah to be) involved when the three children, whom he did NOT have custody of, were put under the care of the Social Welfare Department (SWD) in Jitra, Kedah. Can the Police or IGP explain?

Of course then she was allegedly given the runaround by police a la Indira Gandhi when initially seeking for those cops to enforce the court order.

I cannot but wonder whether such timely but unilateral conversion into Islam of the 3 children, again a la Indira Gandhi, was done out of sincere spiritual belief in the Islamic religion or just out of mischievous opportunistic exploitation of religion to fortify the hubby's hope-for custody over the 3 children - has Islam been taken for a ride again?

Looks like a repeat of the Indira Ghandi case. And it looks like the religious authorities are working in concert with the ex-husband.

Funny how the islamic authorities would do or die hold on to these new converts despite the circumstances of the "conversion".

It does not reflect well on islam.
