KUALA LUMPUR – Online whistleblower Edisi Siasat, which has made several high-profile allegations, is back on Twitter under a new handle two days after its previous account was suspended.

The group now goes by the username @MY_Siasat, and has a short bio that reads “pemburu yang diburu” (the hunter that is being hunted).

“Assalamualaikum, ES is back!” it said in its first tweet last night.

Its previous account @es_edisikhas was suspended last Sunday, following a series of tweets claiming that tycoon Tan Sri Vincent Tan’s son was in possession of drugs.

The group had claimed last Friday that the prominent businessman’s son was previously arrested under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 after he was found in possession of a large quantity of drugs.

It went on to allege that then attorney-general Tan Sri Tommy Thomas had let him off by classifying the case as no further action.

In a statement on Saturday, Thomas refuted allegations that he was involved in corruption in handling the case, clarifying instead that he had reduced the charges after reviewing written representations and legal provisions.

After its suspension on Sunday, the group had informed its Telegram followers that it will create a new Twitter handle soon.

This is the second time the group has had its account suspended, after facing similar action last November when it went with its original moniker then.

Following its return to Twitter last night, Edisi Siasat vowed to expose more details about the drug case involving Tan’s son.

“The exposé of the case is far from over, there are many other weird things involving it,” it alleged.

“Thomas will say he is merely using his power as the attorney-general then, in line with the federal constitution, although he had clearly abused his power.”

In a separate post, Edisi Siasat said the reason it is exposing misdeeds involving the authorities and other high-profile individuals is simply because it wants the public to know the dire situation the country is in today.

“You can say anything you want, but for ES, this is a national service.”

Edisi Siasat’s biggest exposé to date involved the dealings of Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief Tan Sri Azam Baki, where it alleged that the latter had purchased millions in shares while holding public office. – The Vibes, February 23, 2022

  1. A channel propagating Fake News deserves to be suspended.
