FMT:

Johor PH eyes retaking power through ex-MB Osman

Johor PH leader Aminolhuda Hassan says he hopes Osman Sapian of PPBM will switch sides

PETALING JAYA: Johor Pakatan Harapan has laid out the welcome mat for Osman Sapian of PPBM, who has been in touch with old friends in the coalition, with the hope that others from PPBM will return and help to retake power in the state.

Johor PPBM PH chief Aminolhuda Hassan said today the coalition would welcome Osman with open arms if he decides to leave PPBM.

Osman, who is assemblyman for Kemas, was menteri besar of Johor when Pakatan Harapan was in power before PPBM left the coalition to form the Perikatan Nasional alliance with Umno, BN and PAS.

Perikatan Nasional holds 29 seats in the state assembly, of which PPBM has 12. Pakatan Harapan, now comprising PKR, DAP, and Amanah, are in opposition, with 27 seats
.

Aminolhuda told FMT that Osman has been in touch with his old friends in Pakatan Harapan. “They have met, there have been meetings,” he said, but declined to reveal details.

“We would welcome him if he returns to PH to form the government, on the condition that the administration is stronger and better as before this, we had already formed the state government,” said Aminolhuda.

He added a “hung” state assembly would result if Osman switches sides, as both sides would have 28 assemblymen each.

“That is why I invite our friends who were with PH to return because before this we went through good and bad times together; it is better if we form the government together in an environment in which the people can accept us,” Aminolhuda said.

“It is better if they (PPBM assemblymen) return, four to five people rather than just one. It could be that Osman is not happy with Perikatan Nasional.”

Osman was menteri besar for 11 months and resigned in April 2019 in a controversy over his academic qualifications.

Recently, a video which went viral showed a man, believed to be Osman, campaigning for Amir Khusyairi Mohamad Tanusi, the independent candidate in the Slim by-election. Amir represented the Pejuang party formed by former PPBM chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Malaysiakini - Annuar queries Mahathir's Pejuang and appointing his son as No 2

In the video, the man says he is still a PPBM leader but criticises the party for straying from its original struggles.

Firstly, it's shameful though not unexpected that the PH state chairman Aminolhuda Hassan has encouraged Osman Sapian to do a rotating door defection, that is, from PH to PN to PH, wakakaka. We should be aware that Aminolhuda is from Amanah, a kutu (wee flea) party which loves to be in ruling power (as it was in rule as part of the PH government from May 2018 to Feb 2010).

Its lust for power has been indirectly demonstrated by Khalid Samad who to this day continues to suck up to Mahathir, perhaps in the hope of returning to ruling power under the politically devious Atuk.

Amanah was once seen as a highly disciplined and 'clean' party, although I now have my doubts on their virtuous character just as I've come to see the current DAP's high echelon being overly besotted with lust for ruling power.

Yes, it's a shame to invite frogs to join one's own party but then, WTF, that's precisely the doctrinal proclivity and practice of Atuk-ism whose founder demonstrated the worst example after GE14 by (immediately) breaking his pledge to his PH colleagues that he won't accept frogs from UMNO - the Old Man did just the opposite and warmly welcomed those slimy sleazy sickening amphibians. Eff, to the Wicked One, a pledge is not from the Bible lah.

Now, Aminolhuda Hassan has not only encouraged Osman Sapian to return to PH but also to bring other PPBM mateys along (four to five people rather than just one), wakakaka.

Secondly, if indeed Osman Sapian RE-defects (but alone), yes there'll be a 'hung parliament' (28 vs 28) in the Johor State Assembly. But what do you reckon HM Sultan of Johor will do?

In June this year he warned state parties against power grabbing (defecting) and said he would dissolve the state assembly to give the rakyat in Johor the opportunity to choose new representatives who will be sincere in serving the rakyat and state, instead of their respective parties or self interest.

Presumably that may possibly happen if there is a 'hung parliament'. Another option may be the PN or PH coalition will govern Johor at the invitation of HM even in a 'hung parliament' situation - not ideal but WTF, wakakaka.

Thirdly, if we do the maths of Osman Sapian RE-defecting to PH, we will have:

PN 28
  • BN (16)
    • UMNO (14)
    • MIC (2)
  • PPBM (11)
  • PAS (1)

PH 28
  • Osman Sapian (1)
  • DAP (14)
  • AMANAH (9)
  • PKR (4)

Now, what will happen if PKR demands the MB position, or F-O?

Osman Sapian will be back to Square One, wakakaka. Osman should remember his Atuk is no longer the head of PH so his party members doesn't automatically get to be MB if Johor has a PH government with his RE-defection.

If PKR doesn't get the MB position and merajuk, "PH Minus (PKR)" will have only 23, or 24 if we include Osman Sapian.

Assuming PKR stays aloof, to rule in a 55-seat state, a coalition requires 28 ADUN. That means Osman Sapian will need to bring along (including himself) a 5-ADUN team to join PH to enable PH to be in the majority.

Of course HM Sultan Johor can still dissolve the State Assembly, wakakaka.

So Aminolhuda Hassan will only be tokking kok in inviting Osman Sapian to RE-defect if he hasn't-doesn't consult PKR or other PH colleagues, some of whom (PKR especially) detest Mahathir and don't want to work with him or his PEJUANG.

  1. Amanah loves Mamak...
    DAP will go along....

But no-way Jose, Palace will not accept a 50% DAP government.
They are OK with 96% 1-Race government, but 50% DAP definitely no-no.
