Ong Tee Keat is feared

The Malaysian Insider - PKR mulled Tee Keat for Pandan but chose Rafizi, source says

PKR claims OTK's supporters sent out 'feelers' to PKR, implying OTK was prepared to 'jump', an allegation which parroted Chua Soi Lek's accusation of OTK.

So it seems to me that PKR shares a conspiracy bed with CSL in attempting to present OTK as a frog. PKR and MCA, bloody 'fine' company.

And most certainly PKR revelation of this at this particular juncture in time supports the suspicion that it's nothing more than a naughty campaign propaganda.

The source that provided TMI this allegation has been just that, an unnamed 'source' (and we respect the media's confidentiality of its sources), but it raises the interesting question of the reliability of the information.

Has it been a pure misinformation to badmouth OTK as a pre-emptive strike against his candidature in Pandan, as there are indications that Najib may override CSL and appoint OTK as the BN's candidate for Pandan, as the PM did in the Hulu Selangor by-election when he dismissed MIC's preferred candidate.

It would seem that PKR fears OTK as a BN candidate in Pandan as much as CSL does, though the latter has a slightly different reason.

While psychological warfare is part and parcel of political campaigning, it's lamentable some people can't see the difference between psychological warfare and dirty trick allegations.

In Malaysiakini's Vox Populi one (presumably) PKR supporter even suggested the following:

I respect OTK for his unrelenting stand on PKFZ, but that was where he made too many powerful enemies. One strategy for OTK is to sit out GE13, let MCA be humbled then challenge for the MCA top post again in the next party elections.

Should he win, he has many more options as MCA head than just being an Independent MP in Parliament.

Obviously he or she wanted a clear field for Rafizi Ramli.

But isn't it sheer naivety or moronic stupidity to suggest to a man like OTK to give way to Rafizi Ramli of PKR when he wouldn't even give way to CSL, Najib or Hishamuddin? See my earlier (2006) posts:

(a) Corruption 'Fact' for DPM Najib & Hishamuddin
(b) Najib riled with Ong Tee Keat's last laugh!

As a DAP supporter, obviously I would support Rafizi Ramli but I would not any dirty tricks campaigning, as I suspect would be the allegation that OTK supporters had sent out 'feelers' to PKR, especially when one knows the person OTK is.

As RPK said, we want Pakatan to raise the bar, not to ape BN in their dirty tricks.

  1. but otk never said he do not want to be a frog, did he ever said that? so dun blame others.

how to raise bar when the one that churn out such statement is 2x5? read this fella debate with proarte, the response is full with straw man and personal attack, and even brought up race n religion to back him up, ask him to learn from ellese how to stick on issue, not to ape his readers tu quoque trick, very childish.

    1. incorrect as OTK had stated unequivocally (following CSL's accusation of him jumping in the event of a hung parliament) that he'd be staying put in BN

    2. otk state he stay put assuming he win under bn, he is now not even nominated, r we talking the same thing?

      Read NST 15 January 2012
..... However, Ong, who is a former transport minister, remained coy about his next political move except to say that he will make an announcement at the appropriate time. "I will cross that bridge when it comes. But, for now, I'm concentrating on my work as a member of parliament, helping people in the constituency," he said.

otk playing with fire so what he expect?

    3. Hua Yong,
OTK is playing with fire. In fact, there is a precedent. Remember the headmaster contested as an independent in Tanah Rata. He was from MCA. He jumped to Gerakan after he won the election

  2. You are right. OTK said he is saying put in BN but he did not say he is staying put in the MCA. Ever heard of Gerakan KT? I do not like the MCA but I also do not wish to see Gerakan being kept alive by an MCA man so as to split the Chinese vote.

    1. Najib wants a good victory in GE-13 where every federal parliamentary win is important for him, thus he will override CSL and select OTK as a potentially winning BN candidate.

I do not believe there will be any need for OTK to leave MCA and join Gerakan to be eligible as a BN candidate, apart from the impression he's not that sort of person to jump here and there.

Gerakan will be totally erased in GE-13, when a victorious OTK will then make his move against CSL, a likelihood when the latter's candidates have been wiped out in the election.

You sound not right either to support DAP who supported PKR dirty tricks to frame OTK.

    1. I support DAP because it's still a clean political party. The issue of DAP's alliance with PKR is above my basic support for the party. Thus I need NOT automatically support all PKR or all PAS politicians, which as you are no doubt aware, I don't, wakakaka.

  4. Rafizi Ramli will lose to OTK on a BN ticket in Pandan. If this kid is smart, and not drop dead from a promising political career,he better beg not to be the candidate for Pandan. He is just a sacrificial lamb to end his political goals and go back to earn a living in the private sector.Hehehe, stupid kid this Rafizi dreaming that he can beat OTK.

    1. bruno, someone in PKR is attempting to kill off Rafizi Ramli because the young star may prove a threat to the assassin's own future in PKR - see my post http://ktemoc.blogspot.com.au/2012/06/political-assassination-of-rafizi-ramli.html

    2. Again, it doesn't mean that Rafizi would stand there. OTK may jump to PKR if Azmin Ali manage to snatch him. It happens in Derga, Kedah before when that Gelakan former exco jumped to PKR last minute & had a 3 corner fight.

It's a ploy of PKR hoarding the seats as many as possible

  5. Ong Tee Keat is a declared BN loyalist, and much as I appreciate his service work in Pandan, I cannot in my conscience vote for him.

In the event BN ends up with a slim 2/3 majority or slim simple majority in the Dewan Rakyat, it will be the individual BN MPs who make up the numbers to perpetuate BN's unjust and corrupt rule, and Ong Tee Keat will be counted among them.

So my answer as a Pandan man, is NO to Ong Tee Keat if he runs on a BN ticket, just as I said no to him in 2008.

    1. Sorry Daun, whether it's a slim or broad 2/3 majority, it's still 2/3 majority.

Well, I heard that OTK shoot himself in his foot by alleging that he may stand as a BN direct candidate. I am not sure why kaytee so admire this clown who once upon a time engaged in a chair throwing sessions during the MCA Selangor meet. OTK should have done himself good by standing independent instead

    2. that's because I miss the piloting of airborne chair by MIC, wakakaka

  6. The facts on the ground in Pandan is that Ong Tee Keat is fairly popular, but BN is not. UMNO is not. MCA is not. So its still a toss up as to how his fortunes as MP for Pandan goes.
The unfriendly rumours about Ong's purported overtures to PKR have other possible sources not necessarily PKR. Ong Tee Keat made many political enemies along the way, as is obvious, otherwise he would still be MCA President.
Plenty of people in MCA , UMNO and the crony companies related to PKFZ, just for a few examples who have a vested interest in damaging Ong's future political prospects or as "payback".

    1. Frankly, I have second opinion on this OTK's affair. PKR including Azmin Ali wanna rope in OTK. It's a prized catch. It's not really confirmed that Rafizi may stand in Pandan. But then again, I am not sure why kaytee is overating this clown. It's actually a ploy of PKR keeping that seat

I'm a financial professional working in Singapore, but when it comes to the ballot, I will still vote like Kampung Pandan boys.

    - I will vote for a Melayu candidate first and foremost
    - If all candidates are Melayu or non-Melayu, then I will vote for the BN/UMNO candidate.

So, as to Ong Tee Keat, it depends.

Ong Tee Keat vs. Rafizi - vote Rafizi
Ong Tee Keat BN vs. PKR Chinese - vote Ong Tee Keat
Ong Tee Keat Independent vs BN Candidate - vote BN

    1. I suspect Pua is worried Malay voters may be turned off by the impression that a Chinese-dominated DAP will become the main opposition party.

Though Pua has been correct in his figures on the theoretical outcome (where DAP will contest approx 50, PAS 70 and PKR the rest, say 70+, and winning respectively 40, 40 and 45), he has been careful (diplomatic?) to avoid the question of how many seats PKR can actually win.

Recall the last Sarawak elections wakakaka, where PKR arbitrarily grabbed 50-ish seats out of a total 70+, and ended up with a pathetic 3(?) - a case of eating more than should have and getting perut sakit followed by blaming DAP for not contesting in the so-called 'black areas' and leaving it to PKR to shoulder the burden of contesting in BN strongholds, forgetting it had in the first place denied other Pakatan members from contesting. Padan muka, wakakaka.
