Bersatu identifies 'mastermind' behind alleged 'SD plot' - source

An ongoing internal Bersatu investigation has identified a senior leader as the "mastermind" behind a purported plot to collect statutory declarations (SDs) linked to alleged attempts at sidelining party president Muhyiddin Yassin.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, another Bersatu leader revealed that "witnesses" from among division leaders who claimed to have been contacted in connection with the SDs have named the “mastermind”.
"Yes, true. (The mastermind) has been identified. There are witnesses. Some admitted to having been contacted, and there are also recordings.
"The witnesses were among those contacted to sign the documents said to be the SDs," the source said when asked to confirm a Sinar Harian report earlier today that quoted Bersatu Youth chief Hilman Idham.
Hilman reportedly said the supreme council, as part of an investigation launched following the recently concluded 8th annual general assembly, had identified the "mastermind" behind the alleged plot which sparked a ruckus during Muhyiddin's policy speech last Saturday.

The source further revealed that other parties identified include division-level leaders who had allegedly moved to collect signatures across various states, as well as the individuals behind Saturday's commotion.
According to the high-ranking source, the "mastermind" was also the same person said to have requested a meeting with Muhyiddin to hand over the SDs.
