Israel war on Gaza live: ‘Absolute chaos’ at hospitals after school attack
- Dead and wounded Palestinians swamp Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza, after an Israeli attack on the Nuseirat refugee camp killed 16 people and injured 75 others. The attack came as Israel marks nine months since Hamas’s October 7 attacks.
- Egypt is set to host delegations from Israel and the United States to discuss “outstanding issues” in a possible ceasefire agreement, Cairo’s Al Qahera TV announced, amid reports that Hamas has dropped a key demand for an upfront commitment from Israel for a complete end to the war.
- Five Palestinian journalists were killed in Israeli attacks on Saturday, Gaza’s Government Media Office said, bringing the number of media workers killed since October 7 to at least 158.

Israel seeks to make Gaza uninhabitable
The Israeli forces issued a statement claiming they struck the UNRWA school in Gaza’s Nuseirat refugee camp because there were Hamas elements inside it without giving further explanation or providing any evidence whatsoever.
At least 16 people were killed and 75 were critically injured, who were transferred to al-Awda Hospital and Al-Aqsa Hospital. It’s a largely civilian population with children and women making up the vast majority of the casualties.
Public facilities are being equally targeted and bombed. It feeds into one conclusion – everything here is being destroyed and severely damaged to make Gaza uninhabitable.
When the war is over and the dust settles, there’s nothing left for the civilian population, including all these public facilities and the infrastructure.

Israel claims overnight attack on municipality building in Khan Younis
The Israeli military says its air force attacked the Khan Younis municipality building in southern Gaza overnight, claiming it was used by Hamas for “military activity”.
It said the Shin Bet internal security service told the army the building had an operational shaft connected to an underground tunnel and was being used as a gathering place for Hamas fighters.
We earlier reported, based on Wafa inputs, that three people were wounded in an attack that destroyed a post office building in Khan Younis. The attack also set tents, where displaced Palestinians were sheltering, on fire, Wafa added.

Farmer who used to export food from Gaza says Israeli forces bulldozed his crops
Ibrahim Dheir, a 34-year-old Palestinian farmer, has told the AFP news agency that Israeli forces destroyed 20 dunams (5 acres) of land he used to lease near the southern city of Rafah.
“As soon as the Israeli bulldozers and tanks entered the area, they began bulldozing cultivated lands with various trees, including fruits, citrus, guava, as well as crops like spinach, molokhia [jute mallow], eggplant, squash, pumpkin and sunflower seedlings,” Dheir said.
Like many other farmers in Gaza, Dheir’s family used to export produce to the occupied West Bank and Israel before October 2023, but he now says he has “no work or income”.
Still, Dheir hopes he’ll be able to return to farming soon.
“We want the war to stop and things to return to how they were so we can farm and cultivate our lands again,” he said.
