MP: How can a cop afford watches worth RM400k?

Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng has called on the police to issue a clarification after a 41-year-old housewife was charged at the magistrate's court in Ipoh with stealing her police officer husband's luxury Rolex watches three years ago.

According to the charge sheet, she was charged with stealing a Rolex Sky-Dweller (Model 326135) with series number 0890R359 and Rolex GMT Master-II 9 (Model 116718 LN) with series number A9R56702.

"The estimated price for the watches stolen was RM207,000 for the Sky Dweller and RM198,000 for the GMT Master-II 9.

"If we look at this case more closely, among the questions (that arise) is how a police officer is able to buy luxury items that cost hundreds of thousands of ringgit?" asked Lim.

The accused, Mou Ei Leen pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The offence was allegedly committed at a house in Pinggiran Rapat Ria in Ipoh in January 2021.

"Recently we were also told that the income of the police is still on an outdated scale," said Lim.

IGP Razarudin Husain called for adjustments to the police salary scale, saying that the salary received by low-ranking personnel is inadequate.

Lim said, "Therefore, it is the responsibility of the police to explain to the general public how the police officer can get those two Rolex watches.

"Were the watches bought with the salary he received as a policeman or through other means?"

  1. Biasa lah.

PM Najib had RM 4 Billion "donations " flowing through his personal bank account.

All the way down the Malaysian Government hierarchy, the mentality it's OK to use your position to canvass for "donations".
RM 400 K was small change by comparison.
