Vincent Tan demands Sanusi to apologise, pay RM200m

Berjaya Group founder Vincent Tan has issued a letter of demand to Kedah caretaker menteri besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, demanding a public apology and to pay RM200 million in compensation.

This is over Sanusi’s claim of impropriety between the tycoon and Selangor caretaker menteri besar Amirudin Shari over the Klang River cleaning project.

In the letter issued through the law firm Pierre Chuah & Associates, Tan’s lawyers asserted that Sanusi’s claims are “plainly false, untrue, unwarranted, unsubstantiated, malicious, and mischievous statements against our client”.

They also demanded Sanusi to retract his claims and make a written undertaking to cease repeating them.

The letter gives Sanusi until the close of business tomorrow to agree to their demands.
