Netizens examine PAS achievements in Kelantan over 33 years
TWITTER users are engaged in heated debates about the current state of affairs surrounding the state polls. Some netizens are openly expressing frustration towards PAS and Perikatan Nasional (PN), questioning the achievements of PAS in Kelantan during their 33-year rule.
Recently, UMNO’s secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan encouraged Kelantan residents to end PAS’ three-decade-long governance by voting for candidates aligned with either Pakatan Harapan (PH) or Barisan Nasional (BN) in the state polls.
He asserted that achieving this goal would necessitate voting for candidates aligned with either PH or BN in the upcoming state polls.
Ahmad emphasised that such a shift would not only terminate PAS’ governance but also facilitate harmonious collaboration between the state and federal authorities.
Following that, Twitter user @Mat_Jaket asked those on the social media platform, what are the consequences of Kelantanese voting for PAS. Let’s take a look at what has been happening in the state for the last 33 years.
“What would be the consequences if the people of Kelantan continue to vote for PAS in the state? Let’s take a look at what has been happening since 33 years ago until today.”
The user highlighted the state’s two major challenges, with the first being the critical poverty rate. According to them, this issue is attributed to the alleged lack of proper governance in terms of the state’s economy and standard of living.
Moreover, the user also claimed that the state government can only blame others rather than fix the problem themselves.
“The critical issue of poverty is a result of the state government’s failure to uplift the living standards and economy of the people. Instead, they are quick to point fingers at others.”
Following that, the same user stated the most important point, which has been what PH-BN supporters have been making fun of Kelantan and PAS for.
“The never-ending water crisis. While Kelantanese children (even PAS supporters) living elsewhere enjoy clean water in Selangor and Pulau Pinang, their family members back home have to endure dirty water daily.”
Netizens are also sharing their thoughts and opinions on the matter. Twitter user
@benfirmino1 added the future of Kelantan is solely in the hands of the voters.
“The future of Kelantan is in the hands of the voters. Let’s bring about change, brothers and sisters, so Kelantan does not continue to worsen. Aren’t you tired of struggling even to get basic necessities like clean water?” – Aug 5, 2023
From the point of view of majority of Kelantanese, PAS has been Very successful, for decades.
ReplyDeletePAS maintained their rural Islamist way of life, kept at bay the DAP Christian and UMNO infidel corrupting influence.
Yup..let's list the many "achievements" of the great islamic state of Kelantan run by the Islamic PAS
Delete1) Incest - very embarrassingly prevalent
2) Sexual abuse - common
3) drugs - most number of cases in Malaysia
4) HIV - prevalence in women increasing
4) sodomy - very common. Imagine hadi and mahiaddin having a go!
5) abandoned babies - many instances recorded. Too much screwing around at too young an age?
6) poverty - Kelantan rated among the bottom poorest in Malaysia
7) water woes - by PAS own admission; it will take 30 to 40 years to resolve.
What an excellent example of what a state practising the "great" islamic way of life is to the other Malaysian states and the world at large.
All hail the great ayatollah hadi!
